Im not sure if this is the right area to post this in but I was curious what everyone's thoughts would be on Meeting up at one of our tracks and having a  " slot car swap meet " bring our cars that are collecting dust or model kits or anything that may draw interest and have a track day while doing swapping, buying, trading, selling etc.

maybe have a lunch as well.

Let me know thoughts on this

Jim,

Thank you Bob Scott did an excellent job on this. I am letting this season finish and hopefully will be able to be a part of track owners meetings to find a time that will be suitable for everyone to have some races. I am currently unsure what classes will be ran but I will make sure its classes that are already in circulation so no new cars are needing to be built. I hope to hold a few open houses this spring/summer to let people come over and have a bbq or something.

I am open to either I wasnt sure if you wanted us to narrow it down to 1

I would go Lemans as well

Thank you Bill for the write up and also coming to assist with assemble and teaching me the glue technique. This has been a fun addition thus far and looking forward to holding multiple races and having a good time. I will be looking into having a parts selection available as well to help racers have what they need to build cars.

One quick story I have which shows why I love this hobby:

Yesterday for Easter was a beautiful day so I had the garage door open and had the kids running cars on the track when a Neighbor walked by and heard the sound of winding motors and decided to take a look and realized it was a slot car track. After a little conversation he asked if he could show his son and grand children and I said absolutely. About 10 minutes went by and he comes back with the other 3 and holding an older Parma tool box with a flexi 2 lexan car sporting the ever so fast Pink endbell 16d motor. It took me a few minutes to put new braids and new tires on it and it ran like brand new so I let the son and grand kids run it around a few laps then decided to put a controller in each of their hands and put my "go-Karts" on the track so all 4 of them could race together. The smiles on their face and the laughs that were had made it worth every penny. I took a few pictures for them to have as an Easter memory and who knows we may have some new racers before we know.

Lemans Sir

another nice build. Looking forward to seeing these new cars make some laps

If you can start doing your rain dance now that would be much appreciated.

I am still thinking you should have kept the hummingbird in the shop.... The track needs a good track pet

Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this hobby it is definitely appreciated by each and every one of us and I know Greyson and Myself both look forward to turning some laps on Saturday.

I for one love the midget cars and for the price of the kit to have a ready to run car for around $100 or less you cant beat it. Only downside is I wish the chassis was a little more durable.

Id definitely be interested in trying one out to see how they handle they might not be took bad with a hawk 7 motor or a parma 16d

another option as well is Pro-track makes a hardbody chassis similar to the one we run for Howies Indy car class and as we have seen with the indy car class it usually has a high car count

I just wanted feedback on why the Parma FCR brass chassis has not been turned into a class among any of the sanctions as they are a readily available chassis that is relatively cheap and with zero movement in the chassis it would come down to a drivers class think essentially a large scale womp with a hard body. I am sure they could be a blast with a hawk 7 motor.

I might need to start adding my controller trunk to all of my boxes though. I will be talking to my neighbor to see if its something he will want to produce multiple of.

I will be looking to restore one of my Hoffman boxes as a fun winter project here soon as its in rough shape but still solid foundation. I plan to add new hardware to mine and potentially do a clear coat on it.
