Topic: Big Turn Out for Monday Racing at Rob's Redline Raceway!

We had a total of 11 racers show up for racing yesterday at Rob's Redline Raceway. That is a record showing for a Monday in Vancouver!

We started the evening off at 5:00pm (after eating pizza) with the Womp race. Womps are always fun on the Redline course! We raced one round of 3 minute heats. The racing was very close with the top five finishing within a dozen laps of each other!

All of the racers for the evening had arrived by the end of the Womp race. The grid was filled with 11 cars for the Flexi race. This race was a different story with Bob Nak taking a commanding lead and stretching it into an impressive win! Second through fifth was much closer, with a tie for second. Racing the Flexi Class on this track is truely challenging!

Re: Big Turn Out for Monday Racing at Rob's Redline Raceway!

The last class to hit the track was the NASTE Open Production Class (this class was formed for racing at Redline Raceway). Dan Fritz (Doc) and Mike Guthrie were ready for competion with well prepared cars! Their car building and race prep on these types of cars was clearly evident! The cars they had prepared worked very well on the Redline course! In the end Doc took the win over Mike, but only by three laps! Thanks to both Doc and Mike for loaning out some great cars for others to race!

Re: Big Turn Out for Monday Racing at Rob's Redline Raceway!

Thank you all as always for a great time. I got some dialing I need to do to my cars but they should all be ready for the next race. As for the Open Production class dont get me wrong I was anticipating it to be a snooze fest but they were actually really cool cars to run and ran fairly well on the larger track I had a great time. thank you Doc for loaning me the car to join in on the fun even if it already has my searching to purchase yet another car smile . Look forward to the next one!!

Interesting  testing with the production cars. I tested with both foam  and rubber tires and found for the most part  the cars handled better  with the rubber tires  found the foams had to much bite and would chatter and roll out in the corners if pushed to hard. On a plus side there was no need to clean the tires between heats. Need to bring a lint roller on next race and see what that does. The best handling car  out of my lot was the revo slot but the stock 21k motor was not up to the big sweeper and straightway. A 25k motor would  help a lot. The 908 had a 22.5 nsr and  it worked out well. The two thunderbolts  had 25 k ball bearing motors.
