BTW the stock Ninco tire trues up very nicely and have good grip but the as they were the spec tire for many proxies over the years the 7mm tires are getting very hard to find.

Tires...
I missed that part.  If you are looking for Paul Gage urethanes, Slot Car Corner has a little box to click that will tell you what tire to order for almost any car or wheel size. I don't know if Monte has been casting BOSA urethanes or what he may have left in stock but he does have a reference "chart" regarding tire sizes and fitment.
If you want to stay with rubber several of us have had good results with NSR tires, they make many sizes that will fit 15x8 or 17x8 and wider wheels.
8.5mm is the narrowest tire they make so for the 7mm tires I go to Pendles in the UK for the 15x7 PCS tires, they also have 14x7 wheels and tires for the very small cars or to get that guide just a bit deeper into the slot without altering your chassis. Once trued they have pretty good grip. More than enough of a stock or somewhat modified Ninco classic.

I went with 10/25 and found a nice Riggen Ferrari Can Am body that I didn't have to paint.

Any 15x7 wheels. On some of the larger cars you can go 15x8. You will want fresh 3/32 axles as the ninco are knurled.
As for brand,  Slot It,  NSR,  CB Design,  Staffs,  SRC. They will all fit.
Pendles has most of those plus insert wheels with many many choices and styles to build just about anything you want.

I got home and made a gear change on my Womp, I like it much better now, oh and another new body. We'll check it out in a couple of weeks.

5.500 Doc? have you been practicing for that?

I have the Black Thunderslot Elva, fantastic running little car.

Most of the Classic Ninco cars already have 7mm tires, the only exception that comes to mind is if you have an unmolested XK120 Jag, many of them came with 8mm tires on the rear, however 7mm tires will fit on the rims without any modification.

As far as the Mclaren '93/'94 is the split.  If the car came out before '94 but was raced for several years like most privateer cars were then it would be legal for LMP as the rules are written. The F40 is an example of that. It appeared in '92 I believe but was competative for several years making it legal for both GFX & LMP.  The Marcos, Dodge Viper, the Porsche 962, and a few others all fall into this category. There are also a few that crossover from PGE to GFX, the GT40 being an example. '68/'69 being the break here.

Enjoy

Doc, my Razor lives in a drawer but my HUDY is always on the bench. I've never used the Scaleauto machine. I believe that is what Zack uses and I think Al has one too. With the price of them you may want to give each one a try.

So I have been in the scratch/resin building mode the last few months and have a hand full these cars and nothing to race them against... thinking a one-off race with maybe just a motor limit to keep the damage down. any 14k motor open chassis and body tire and run it after the normal race classes on a odd Thursday race night..

I have a world travelling 250 GTO that meets those specs.

Dennis,
I too would like to see some of these cars run, though they might perform better at Bob's track with the long straits and sweeping corners.
I bought a wing car out of curiosity but after cleaning up the dry tires it wanted to fly off the track at full throttle no matter the speed you were already going. But then I was using my standard controller. We don't race them here so I don't really know anything about them.

That is a lot of math. Bill you need a hobby, wait never mind.

That's why I like the team Blue Bodies (.0030") so much, when you pick it up it feels like you have something in your hand. But to compete rather than just participate you have to run what the other guys are running.

I have two sets of proxy cars to run. The Revoslot cars plus the Trans Am cars showed up. I plan to run at least the Revoslot cars this Sunday as we will be running them again at Al's at a later date. Time permitting I'd like to run the Trans Am cars too.
We can use as many people as we can get.
12ish would be a good time to start.

These cars arrived a day early, yesterday.  I plan to qualify them on Sunday and we can schedule a race for after that.

We have also been asked to run two rounds in the Portland area, So Al, I'll be calling you.

I built this a couple of years ago but never got to race it. We'll get another chance in a couple of weeks.

I've found the correct gears, axles, wheels, and a Proslot Motor for mine. It is currently sitting on the bench with the epoxy setting around the rear bushings. I had it together and running once but then as it sat on the shelf I started scavenging parts off of it for other projects.

The pieces of my car may be gathering dust. But I can build another, perhaps better car if there is enough interest. Maybe you have an extra body you might like to part with?

These Cars will be coming to Portland in a couple of weeks. We've had a lot of local interest in these cars with several club members racing them, this will be a chance to try them out.

I didn't enter this particular proxy but will be hosting a round. Our own Doc Doom is currently in third place.

They will be racing their next round on the 17th then will be sent here. I'll post again when the cars arrive.

I replaced both the bent axle and the bent axle tube, I also cut out the soldered in Slotworks motor and replaced it with a Proslot S16D motor. Now to see it I can run it more than 4 minutes at a time.
