Project Trans-Am: Building a new Late Model Trans-Am. It is a 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. The chassis came from a GT-1 that with minor changes will be used for this car. The new pans are yet to be narrowed. The fender wells have not been cut out yet, will do the cutting after the pans are done and the .055" clearence is set. Will keep the ariginal shape of the wheel wells and not just make a round circle. This is a tall car, I did not cut the body to the limit, I wanted to keep the body looking as close to the original demensions as possible, but I came down some as this car would have been way too top heavy. This also has the longest wheelbase of all the eligible Late Model Trans-Am cars.

This Late Model Trans-Am class is going to be a kick. Good work on trying to make all the bodies as equal as possible. The adaptability of the Scholer chassis makes running all these classes very easy and cost affective. The Ford, GM, Mopar duelling will begin again!!!! Love Bob's Mustang. Looks mean and ready to roll.....Beau

While the wife did a doll convention in Puyallap I took a project or two to give me something to do while in the motel room for those four days.
I am currently building a NASCAR. It will be the Blues Brothers Pontiac.

A Scholler Striker chassis, ordered from Grid 1.

I didn't cut the body down to the legal limit, I left some so I wouldn't have to cut the wheelwells too far into the body. I don't think I will have to trim the front wheel wells much at all. The rear tires are trued down to 1.030".

That 64 Galaxy is cool! Hopefully you will promote that body style at your new track. How's it coming anyway? Beau

962 project. I mounted the body on a GT-1 chassis ( formally Monte's ). The front and back tracking was right on. Had to extend the wheelbase about 1/8th. of an inch. I was very careful to cut along the cut lines, I used a Dremel with a sanding drum for most of the close work. Had to turn down new front tires to 15/16th. to clear fenders. I turned down the rears to just over 1.0". however in the enduro I will start with bigger diameter tires if this is the car Beau and I race. I made new and wider pans. The old pans, front tires will be stored with the old GT-1 body. The body came with a full drivers tray and headlight buckets all in one form. I cut the headlight buckets away from the driver's tray. I will add a piece of plastic behind the headlights for strength as these pieces are very thin and weak. Then when it comes to night racing, I will tape the buckets/lights in place.
The driver's tray is really a nice one, three demensional, but there is room for it, it should really stand out after painting it up.

Beautiful looking car. I love the format of these cars. Very simple. Just find a decal set you like and your almost done.....

Almost complete 962 Porsche. Still need to add detail paint to the body, and finish the driver's tray, add headlights/tailights etc.

Here is my LMTA Mustang. I used Duplicolor Touch Up paint. This paint is nice looking, but is too brittle.

Except for a few mechanicals, BLues Brothers Pontiac is ready to race. I won't know how it runs 'till race time, that I guess is how I do things. This is my first try with a True Scale NASCAR and am looking forward to it. I have another chassis that is completely hand built but is not done yet. The decals on this car was a bitch to say the least, they are just too big to deal with and would not lay flat in some areas.

That Early Modified is killer and I predict it will be a winner, looking forward to it's being completed and racing against it. The chassis and bumpers and all the soldering is first class.
I have that kit and it makes me want to dig it out and start building it, but wait, I have to finish my other projects first. I always say: "it is better to have too many projects than not enough!!
