sweet thats right in what I was looking at price wise

test ran fly 908 ran ok with the stock tires on it. had some wheel hop to it. most of that was due to the play in the stock axile bushings. did the super glue trick and  will see what that did for it. still need to put urethane on it. did swap in a straight axile for the steers.

I see most of you running the older style f1 cars on Thursday nights. Do the new era f1 cars not work that well. on the fence on what to get. does any body have a extra they want to sell.  Im in the market for one

fly 908 and a Difalco Neo DD301 30-Band

anybody bring there fly cars to the track this odd Thursday? . I dont have any of the cars that run this week. but was going to show and see the track and maybe run a few laps with the new car and controller.

with the slot it axile stock gearing and tire size would have to stay the same.inserts installed, stock motor and chassie.  I dont want to dump a ton of cash into then either.maybe down the road we can run the same carss but up grade the 3d chassi and hotter motors ect. but for now keep them close to stock as we can.

looks like the new guy in the mix. just picked up a new 908 off the other forum. Have to see what kind of shape the drive train is in. are replacement slot axile kits a go or no go with these cars. saw that it was up in the air still.

I'm using the f1 retro chip in my m8 but that motor is right at the limit for that chip. only reason I used is because I had it. I would use the new sp15b. it will handle up to 25k slot motors.  and you don't have to mess with the  led lead that on the f1 chip. the slot one is on the chip board.

remove the wires from the guild and unsolder wire from the motor. the slot it guilds come with a template to drill a small hole in the chassi for the led. hot glue or two sided tape the chip in and run your wires to the guild and solder the othe end to the motor. biggest thing is to make sure you dont have the motor leads touching each other or the motor or it cause it to short out. heres some pics from greggs site on then installed

you might have to do a little work to the underbody also

little of topic but do most of the tracks run the three port set up and what controler should i get. been looking at either the DS 0128 Electronic Adjustable Controller or PMTR2110 Scale Racer PRO Controller. both good down to 10 volts and run the around the same price.

Thanks for having me over. time for me to get my own controller and set up some anlog cars.

with the guys coming down from up north I can open anytime after noon if you want. I'm off all day on Mondays. so that's not a problem if you want to beat traffic. and get some practice in before the racing starts. 6 was for those poor guys that have to work on Mondays.
