Re: park side race way

I stopped in to visit the good doctor last night.  Had a great time running cars and chatting.  It's a fun track though it does have a little learning curve - no pun intended.  Think I'll build up a car for racing there.  Slot.It Can Am - gonna use an Alfa.

The plan is for some of the Seattle guys to come down next Monday for a little racing.  Let's see if we can get a few of us over there too.

Re: park side race way

That's a tough time to try to get to Vancouver from Tigard, but I'll give it a try. Keep us posted.

Re: park side race way

Mitch, I think he's planning to open early so it may be possible to avoid the horrors of the drive-time carnage.  Maybe DocDoom will chime in here.

Re: park side race way

with the guys coming down from up north I can open anytime after noon if you want. I'm off all day on Mondays. so that's not a problem if you want to beat traffic. and get some practice in before the racing starts. 6 was for those poor guys that have to work on Mondays.

Re: park side race way

Looks good Doc.  I've got a chip on the way from Scaley via my favorite pusherman.

Re: park side race way

Monte, what is involved in installing a chip in a standard Slot it car?

Re: park side race way

remove the wires from the guild and unsolder wire from the motor. the slot it guilds come with a template to drill a small hole in the chassi for the led. hot glue or two sided tape the chip in and run your wires to the guild and solder the othe end to the motor. biggest thing is to make sure you dont have the motor leads touching each other or the motor or it cause it to short out. heres some pics from greggs site on then installed
http://www.ggaub.com/slots/cars/Cars/Sl … n_Chipped/
you might have to do a little work to the underbody also

Re: park side race way

That looks simple enough, is there a particular chip you recommend? Or is there just one Scaley chip? As far as the body work, I have a Dremel and I'm not afraid to use/abuse it.

Re: park side race way

I'm using the f1 retro chip in my m8 but that motor is right at the limit for that chip. only reason I used is because I had it. I would use the new sp15b. it will handle up to 25k slot motors.  and you don't have to mess with the  led lead that on the f1 chip. the slot one is on the chip board.

Re: park side race way

Mitch, yes, the sp15b is the one I got as well.  If you have Tony's # give him a call.  Sent straight from Hornby in WA.

I'm thinking it will go in one of the Alfa's.  Or a Lancia.

Dan, Can Am or C Class?

Re: park side race way

this is what I want to get going. there all can am except the gt40 but same wheel base maybe we can run a class c also most guts have one of those. I dont but that can be fixed
