The results are a LIE. David was shorted .7 of a lap by a computer glitch which gives him the win. Congrats David on a job well done. As the results show this class is closely contested as we have been racing it for a long time and we all have pretty equal cars so the results come down to the driver. In the first heat all three lanes were running neck and neck for at least half of the heat. I had one off for the heat which was enough to give David the win in Doc's Cobra. I was second with Doc .2 behind for third.
Next up was LMP a class that Doc and Al have dominated for the most part. During practice before the race my Lola kept popping out of the slot so I removed the body and put 7g of lead in the nose and changed rear tires to a well worn set of Thunderslot tires.
This proved to be the winning combination as my car was really hooked up and flying finishing 1.3 laps ahead of Doc with Al .3 behind and Mitch only a few laps back.
As per usual Open class was last up. The Lola was working so good I used it again. In what was a closely contested battle Doc and I tied for the win with the fastest lap deciding who got the win. Al was close behind .3 of a lap back. David and Nova competed in a tandem duo with some good family bonding. All in all a super fun close night of racing.
Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.
