I'll agree that this was a more user friendly track and the controllers worked great. Congrats to Mitch and Bill on their wins. Thanks you Monte and Victoria for hosting another great race night and thanks to Al for the salmon. See ya at the next race!

I had a great time and it was nice seeing some of the racers who haven't been around lately. Any time I can sneak into the top three, I feel lucky, especially with the group of racers we had on hand. I liked the timed practice, too. Maybe make it one minute heats to let more people cycle through and limit the number of times through for the "experts" as they really don't need the practice. I think the large turnout had as much to do with it being at Bill's as it did with being a Sunday race. Seems a lot of people really like the track, myself included.

Congrats to the Goose !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad that everyone enjoyed the "Bimmer Lites" . Those that know what an Isetta is know that these were almost too realistic in their handling and performance. Comgrats to Bill on the win. Guess I should have taken that do-over when my car was not in the slot at the start. Thanks to all for coming over and making it a fun night of racing. I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing those Isetta race cars on the track again! tongue

Even finishing near the back of the pack, I had a great time. Good food and good friends make this a great place to play with our toys. Congrats to Jeff. tongue

I uncovered mine Sunday and all 20 cars ran well enough to make me happy. Those Dash-jets are another story though. Covered it back up and probably won't uncover it till the Friday before the race. No fun racing by myself. Nobody to nerf! tongue

Monte, you said "And one other item to consider for fairness...  The track owner wins most of the time.  ALWAYS!"

That's why some people don't want the championship to be held on an HO track! I wouldn't want it to be at ANY track where the owner has an advantage, but to single out the HO track and racers was unfair.

I'd say let the owners race at their events, but not count in the standings. The only time my track gets used is for our races and I'd be pretty sad if I didn't get to race with everybody on my own track. Running at Bill's in reverse would be a great way to decide a championship.

And as for Bill not winning on his own track, if the stakes were important, we'd see a much more competitive driver emerge, because he can drive slot cars as well as anybody here. tongue

"So called" data is right. Anybody can skew numbers to their advantage. I flipped back through some results and saw only two times at Rico's track where the winner was not Rico (owner), A.J. (resident) or Monte (builder). That means you are less likely to win there unless you are one of those three guys. Bryan's place is the only one where the track owner dominates. Monte has a better chance of winning at home than I do.

As for "acquired skill". when I started racing with NASTE all the races were either HO or 1/24th Econo cars. I've had to learn every scale and every track by showing up and getting beat, sometimes badly. I know that now I can challenge at most tracks, but the track owner will always have an advantage if the track is only used for one or two races a year.

I just added up the numbers and they said I need another rum ball or three. tongue

Formula One. Isn't that where a group of race cars parade around a track in single formation and the top qualifier gets the trophy? What kind of decisions does Bernie make? How many laps the parade should be? tongue

Interesting, but where would the Run Off be held? Sounds like the current NASCAR set-up. You don't have to win a race all year until the last one. A driver could win every race all year leading up to the last one and not be the champion because he didn't win the last one. Ryan Newman almost pulled it off last year. tongue

It was a fun night as always and there was a great turnout. We drove the wheels off the yellow car! Well, one wheel anyway. I like the little cars! I like the pizza! Thanks Sherry and Bryan for being great hosts! tongue

I thoroughly enjoyed myself banging doors with Dorothy in the first round. I wasn't quite so nice in the second round, passing her as safely as possible. Always a good time at Monte and Victoria's house! smile

I heard this today so thought I should pass it along. Terry Carter, a local slot car fan and collector, passed away this week. He had been doing poorly for some time and gave up when they started hospice care. I will miss his knowledge and humor.

It was a fun night as always at WFO Speedway. I was less than a lap behind the master after the first round. Then I had to drive that green 55! Doubt I could have caught Bryan anyway, but I really enjoy t-jets and he builds great ones. Thanks to the hosts for another great evening. tongue

Gotta wonder how the tires get worn like that. Great deal on the car. Try to use a vintage body if you switch. tongue

Rico and Kelly really make us feel welcome. It's always fun to race on this track no matter how bad I do, and there is always great food to make me forget my driving errors. Congrats to the Big Smooth on his win (I think he knows this track a little better than most) and congrats to Thomas, too. He's been to three races and won them all. Maybe Flyin' Jr. should be his new name. tongue

Mr. Bill! Is this for an IROC NASTE race? Look they are already used and abused, perfect for us. tongue

I won't retire the Monster Trucks but I may re-tire them. I know they can frustrate the best drivers but it's the race that brings out the laughter. Thanks for everyone coming out and congrats to Thomas on the overall Challenge win and Victoria for slipping home first with the trucks. tongue

She gets in if Tracy or Bill or I grab the camera while she's racing. Sometimes the results are not the best. Uncovered my track yesterday for the first time since our last race. 18 of 20 cars worked good enough to race but I'll tinker with them all. Won't decide which we'll race but the monster trucks seem to bring out the smiles (and frustrations) more than the others. smile

I always enjoy racing t-jets, and Bryan builds great ones. Next  NASTE race is on us, and we'll be racing more t-jets. Dorothy has good food planned so don't miss it! tongue

The Halloween races are great because everyone is having a good time no matter how their car is faring. Rico was smiling because the corner marshal's kept grabbing his wiener !!  smile

I will agree that it was a great evening of slot car racing. Congratulations to Thomas and Monte on their winning ways. tongue
