I thought that a tire swap would be easier and faster than another motor swap.  That Vic and I survived both of us running the same car and it performed at the finish about like it did st the start was a minor miracle.

Good racing, good food, good friends.

Now what did Jeff do to his car that got 32 laps out of it?  smile

Agreed, it was great fun while I lasted.

The final tallies for all teams.

And a splendid day it was.  Opting for a June date rather than the previous ridiculously hot August day was a positive improvement.  Temperatures topped out in the 80's rather than triple digits.

Fourteen racers participated - Monte joked about instituting a 4 lb. diner minimum but didn't actually carry through.  The food was great, the times even better.

Taking the win in a closely contested event was Team Blue starring Greg Gaub, Mitch Brooks and June Petrequin.

Here are the official results:

1.  Team Blue : 1671 laps
Greg Gaub
Mitch Brooks
June Petrequin

2. Team Green : 1652 laps
Mike Daily
Tyler Petrequin
John Police

3.  Team Orange : 1625 laps
Tracy Flood
Todd Flood
Greg Petrolatti
Carl McLaughlin

4.  Team Purple : 1605 laps
Monte Saager
Victoria Saager
Perry Petrequin
Al Christensen

A sincere thanks to those that joined us, we had a great time.  Pictures and video to come.

Thanks to both Rico and Kelly for hosting the race last night.  I know Kelly wasn't feeling all that great yet the food was super - as always.

It was also great to see Victoria cement her position in second for the Challenge cup.  I thought she did real well last night.  She claimed it was one of her favorite tracks.

I wonder who should have gotten more style points?  Perry for showing us a FIAT can fly or June for her amazing 360?

And it looks like practice pays off after all as John Fisher used his recent practice of those proxy runs to win the Challenge division in a close race with about 3 laps between the top 4.

Next time we run lighted cars we'll have to get Rico to make all the lights work so we can run in the dark.

We just finished our wrap up from the 12-hour Enduro this past weekend in Tacoma.  Our 8th place finish tells us we're on the road to improvement but nowhere near where we need to be.  So it's time to get organized.

To that end we're planning some practice sessions to get familiar with the cars and the track in preparation for the 24-hour Enduro scheduled for this coming November.

But, we need more of us on the team.

If you can commit to a race day or two in November please let us know.  We guarantee you'll probably have a good time.  It's 1:24 scale cars that really fly.  Part of it is in the dark.  This time the heats were only 25 minutes but for the 24 we expect them to be 50 freaking minutes!

The early word is that it will be a battle of BRM Ferrari 512's vs. BRM Porsche 917's.  Cars with metal chassis.

The tracks are great, the facility top-notch, the competition intense.

Let's show them that for one night we can still howl at the moon!

Excellent work gents!

Don't pass an old, unstable car on the outside.  The even driver's worse.

Had a great time boys.  Thanks to Bill for having us.

I echo your sentiment, can't recall ever having a really good time in 'Ol Frisco.  Although on my day of walking around by myself i discovered that all the deli's have Meatloaf sandwiches.  I considered it my "walking Meatloaf" tour.  I think we only paid $20 for our car to have a parking spot at the hotel.  Buncha bandits...

And yes, we now have RamJet's.  No need to use those plunger-style controllers.  Unless of course that is your preference.

If I find time, we may even have anti-collision.  Actually thinking about it, I SHOULD find the time.
