Made the drive last night. Highly likely that I will be doing it again next week as well. If anyone is interested in joining, let me know. The official hours are 7 to 9, but he's working on other stuff and I didn't leave til much later, and I imagine we'd be able to show up early as well.

I think there is an open track evening tomorrow in Tacoma. Anyone interested in attending?

To be clear.... not trying to goad anyone into attending, just pushing the publicity. Entry is covered. Come and play if you're interested. Don't let entry cost deter you.
Also, I have no commercial stake in the new car but it's been a painful gestation period as Alan was consulting chatting with me regarding the GT40 and wanted to get it right (but still called me??). I actually contributed to the modeling and details on the car, so I am very excited to see how they came out. It's been years in the making.
He asked me not to say anything about the project and I didn't, so I am very glad the cat's out the bag now!

Now confirmed what the cars will be...
Anyone else want to join Stan and me, along with Darren and our other Canadian brothers, to take on the regulars and the internationals?

...this is not your failure Bob, you provide a great place to have a fun time racing slot cars and you are a good host. The failure is in a racer taking this hobby way too seriously! As this known racer takes his anger out and yells at the person or persons that he has contentions with, it upsets the whole theme of the race and fellow racers who are out to have a good time. This kind of behavior is unexceptable and we as track owners need to get a handle on this....
As someone who has hosted events a handful of times and attended countless others, I have utmost respect for the individuals who open their homes or other spaces for us to come together and play. I can't begin to explain the respect I have for Al in how he continuously supports Odd Thursdays!! This group has some amazing and generous people.
As adults (technically), we shouldn't need to put a disclaimer that proper decorum should be expected at our events, and it should be understood that improper decorum will not be tolerated.
If someone can't respect this, I agree with Howie- it sounds like their problem, not yours, Bob. I can partially understand the feelings you are experiencing, but if someone made a habit out of coming to my house and raining on my parade, I would be clear with them that they are ruining the fun for everyone and further antics would not tolerated. If that upsets them and they never come back, it's their choice, but your attendees won't have to deal with them. If they become more pleasant to be around and continue to show up, it's a win for everyone!
Either way, it would be a shame to let someone ruin the fun of everyone else.

Got the part, and checked with the director...no problem attending the 24 hour race, so I'll be there!
Let's get some more Oregonians in the mix!
Fantastic on both fronts, Stan. Congrats on the role and excellent that you can still join us.
Doc- You're in if you want to be! Come up for the full time or just for the 24. We'd be happy to have you for whatever time you can spare.

For all you Can Am fans, here's your chance to truly dive right in and be part of an actual Can Am team!
The BC gang (Darren, Alwyn, etc...) emailed about joining forces to put together a multi-cultural entry. If you've always been a Can Am fan, here's your chance to actually participate! It'd be super fun, eh?
Come on up and be part of the legend. If it's too long of a heat, we could definitely use marshals and or pit crew or grid girls. Come join the party!

There will be an Oregon team. Who will be on it? I will cover entry cost.
The current details from Alan:
24 Hours of Tacoma and BRM & RevoSlot International Sprint Finals Nov 9th - 12th .
I should finally have the Poster done so we can start getting entries.
We already have Teams confirmed from Italy, no not BRM another Team to hold up the Italian honor at Slot Car Racing. Plus many just waiting for me to finally confirm the dates and entry fee.
Entry includes 6 drivers into the Sprints from each Team also.
The Schedule will be announced soon but Thursday Nov 9th @ 10.00am the Teams will get their cars and spares handed to them to start building. As usual only the spares we supply can be used.
I can not confirm the car yet but it will be a final prototype of a very successful Le Mans car from the 60's.
Also on the Thursday there will be 2 International Sprint Finals First for BRM GT 90's car with the new chassis. STOCK as supplied by BRM/Scaleracing except lowered fronts and Sponge rear tires are allowed.
The second Sprint will be RevoSlot GT1 again STOCK except for RevoSlot Sponge rear tires.
Also RevoSlot GT2 cars running STOCK with hand out rear tires. Subject to how many entries these will either run as solo races or run together and scored separately
On Friday at 10.00am thew 24 Hour cars will be back on track till 2.00 pm then the third International Sprint Final for BRM Group 2 and Mini Cars STOCK with hand out tires.
Later that afternoon/evening final testing for the 24 Hours of Tacoma Cars and Tech, then Qualifying.
Saturday morning will open at 9.30am. Pre grid at 9.45 and the 8th Annual 24 Hours of Tacoma will start at 10.00am.
Tell your friends, come be part of a 14 lane 24 Hour Test on Man and Machine, and of course Women, as they have won the 24 hours before. Come one, come all, come have fun.
Meet the people behind BRM and a huge group of fun racers.
More info soon.
Cheers

Monte- got a pic of what I'd be looking for? Most of my desktop stuff is of a certain vintage so if it's something "old" which is needed, I'd bet I have something which will work.
I just don't know what XT and AT stuff is, unless you're talking about bike component sets.

If what I have is properly spec'd for the job, it'd be proud to support In Slot's Checkered Flag Raceway!
I'll see if I can find it and wake the hampsters.

I may also be able to locate one if Monte's falls through. Let me know.
Actually, I can locate one, would just need to confirm it has the needed port.

I suppose that would be helpful info to share... The third Sat of Aug, so the 19th this year.
I will be there very early again but the circus doesn't really start until 9-ish.

Yes, it's that time of the year again. I am looking for people who want to spend a Saturday on Mt Tabor with me. I think this will actually be my last year even if I don't break the record... Too much other stuff to do.
This is the first year I am recycling the car, so no new build. It will be last year's car with some tweaks to try to eek out the needed 0.2 seconds to break the record.
Looking for volunteers to help with the team on the hill for the day. Don't need anyone for the derby volunteer position, just for the Scuderia. Responsibilities vary, but it's nothing overly demanding. Hours are also flexible- don't need to show up at daybreak, dont' need to stay all day... If you're willing to contribute, I'll be appreciative.
Letting me know you'll be there will get you a T-shirt. I know, what a payday!!
With a sales job like that, I know you won't be able to resist. So who's in?

Nice looking car there Chris.
Thanks, but all I did was buy it though. I actually splurged on the one where the rear clip was also painted.
There are enough types of Revo's there could be multiple classes.
Agreed, but while I have been away, there has been a bit of restructuring of the classes and Classics 2 (where these would naturally land) has apparently gone away and the PGE sportscar class is now Policar only (the other natural fit for these cars). The vintage Revo's don't fit Classics 1 due to their multi-piece chassis and I am not seeing another class where they'd be legal.
I think the Alfa may qualify for Trans Am, but it's not truly within the intent of the rules as I believe they were written (one-piece plastic chassis cars like Scaley's or Ninco's).
I was looking at picking one up but it would be silly to do so with no class in which to race it.
