July 9th results -

The Goose also drove to the overall win in the F1 Class with his Scalextric Eagle.

Cash, in his first Odd Thursday Night race at TooBad Motorplex was first in the F1 Modern Division (MD).

Dennis Hart finished first in the Scalextric Historic Division (SHD).

Greg Petrolati was first in the Scratchbuilt Narrow Division (SND)

The racing was very close last night as the lap totals show in the results. There were many good close on track battles in all of the classes! Here are the results from last night's racing - July 9th.

Gary "Goose" Gossett was first in the Classic Sports Car Class with his Ninco Corvette.

My thought would be to schedule around Monte's First Sunday events.

All the feedback I have received so far favors a switch to racing on Sundays.

Is anybody against racing on Sundays?

Track owners, what do you think?

It's time to start planning for next season. The 2016 season will be the 20th consecutive year of NASTE racing!

Last season we held a couple races on a Sundays. We had a very good turnout for those races which generated some discussion as to whether or not we should switch our race days from Saturday evenings to Sundays. If we were to switch to Sundays, my thought would be to follow Monte's lead and open the doors at 10:00am, with racing to start at noon. Our normal Saturday evening races have doors opening at 4 or 5 pm with racing at 6:00 pm. I'd like to get some feedback to see how many racers would rather have the races on Sundays.

TooBad Motorplex will continue with the Odd Thursday Night Races in addition to the NASTE weekend races.

You are indeed correct Rico. So far everyone seems to be having a good time, and the last thing I want to start doing is tech inspections! The obvious deviations seem to be curtailed by relentless ridicule and public embarrassment!

That's part of the beauty of our Odd Thursday Night races. Yes there are some rules, but they are very basic. You can pretty much run most anything in a couple of the classes. If you've never won a race at an Odd Thursday race you can run a traction magnet in a magnet free class, or even a hotter motor. But once you've on a race, in order to be credited with a win your car must fully comply with the rules for the class it falls into. It's as close to run-what-you-brung racing as I've ever experienced in the slot car world!

I think it is the guy I sold it to. Unfortunately I don't remember his name (old guy thing). I di remember he had been racing with Bob Hanna's group in Roseburg.

Even though it is pretty short in lap length, that is one very fast track!

The original TooBad Motorplex track affectionately known as The Bull Ring is for sale. The track is currently in Roseburg Oregon.

I have inverted the Winner's List to make it easier to reference winners of the previous race (last race winners are now at the top of the list). I probably should have done it that way from the start! =========Bill

The first Trans Am Race for stock Scalextric cars at The Gorge Raceway in Troutdale was an outstanding event! The plaque on Bob's trophy pretty accurately summed up the day!

Al Christensen had an excellent drive with his new out of the box stock Scalextric Cougar finishing in 6th place.

Rico Locati blew two motors, switched to my of crappy Camaro, performed some quick massage work, and still managed to post a 5th place finish!

Jeff Fields drove a perfect heat in the Red Lane scoring 32 laps, a new record for the Trans Am cars at The Gorge! Jeff finished in 4th Place.

John Gill drove a consistant and fast race to finish in the 3rd spot.

Monte where-did-he-come from Saager drove an outstanding race, overcoming a multitude of obstacles to finish in 2nd Place!

Bob Nakamura, race host and director, and just plain FAST racer finished in 1st Place. A well deserved win!

The Gorge Raceway has a nice long front straight!

Everyone had a really good time!

Racers prepare for the start of another heat. The race consisted of 4 rounds of 4 minute heats. Everyone got plenty of track time!

At the end of it all it was time for Bob to announce the results.

It was an excellent race Bob, looking forward to the next one!!!

I was a recipient of that help today, and would not have had nearly as much fun had you not loaned me your Scalextric Challenger to race. Thank you very much!

Of course then after Rico blew up his second motor he takes my ill handling POS Camaro, quickly works his magic on it, and finishes out the race with my Camaro actually working like an acceptable race car!...............................................................................
Maybe I need a new hobby????!!!!!!!
