Doc, upon reflecting on this more. I do think it would be smart to limit the revoslot class to a certain type of car. We could open this up or add others in down the road, but they clearly make cars that are meant to compete with one another.

I would recommend going with the "GT" category to start, since there is a massive range of liveries and cars available.

Porsche GT2
Viper GTS
Toyota Supra
Marcos
F40
McLaren F1
Mercedes clk.

(this is just a suggestion, i would be fine limiting it even further to GT2 cars only, supra, marcos, viper, porsche)

Staying away from the open top and LMP cars will keep the class more consistent IMO.

I also think Al should have the final review and say on this classing, since he is the primary support for this section of the club at this time.

Zack

good point will make the adjustment.

Doc,

I don't think I have seen the final draft of the new rules. Are they just new "Class Rules"? I will move the existing class rules to an inactive file and post the new rules once they are finalized.

Are you keeping the existing "General Rules" or are those changing as well?

It just a draft for the now and still in the discussion  format.  Just looking for feed back

Well Bill what do think of the rule package? See any adjustments  you like to have a input  on?

by my count there are 5 spec and 6 tuner classes

Ok then Thursday night Thunder is back on. better get hold of Espn so we don't get sued for trade make infraction... we already have a doctor on staff..

The idea is to run the kiss classes in the 1st two races and then run a 3rd tuner class. Example: race 1 would be the slot it dtm. Race two revo slot and then race 3 thundet slot and if time the 4 race  would be up for suggestion. There was also talk  of having a IROC race for the 1st go also.

Well, the 3 biggest Reponses I have heard are..
1. we have to many classes and the rules are to complex
2. we are too completive, there just here to have fun
3. they don't want to spend the time and cash building so many cars too race.. which falls under too many classes again

I never edited that class. it just the way Chris wrote it out.

Yes let's clean those up like Zack suggested. With ones we keep put those into the rotation and the ones that are high tune classes for example  Le Mans make that the 3rd or 4 race of the night and the manufacturer  classes run 1st. Main idea  is to keep it simple and cost down for the 1st two races of the night.  Just need to sit down with the lap top and do a rough draft of the rules and such. I hear Zack already  has his hand raised

ok with that out of the way the subject of classes talked about, and Zack had some good ideas.
1st we just toss out all the classes and start over from scratch per say and keep the new classes and rules as simple as possible.
all class would be based on manufactures and would have very few up graded allowed to keep cost down and the playing field simple.
example of one class would be revo slot class.
1, has to be a revo slot 1/32 car
2. must keep stock motor and gearing
3. only revo parts can be used including tires.
that's it.
another class that was brought was slot it dtm cars.
1, must be a slot dtm car in stock form
2. only upgrade would be tires and slot it weight. loosening of body screws and pod would be allowed only slot it parts can be used
. those are just two sampled a few more were talked about, a few we already have such as gt3 and Policar f1
some of the older classes would be kept and added to the list but the days of having a 30-dollar car turn into a 100 dollar one would be a thing of the pass at least for Odd Thursday night racing hopefully these would bring racers back to the track..

Well, another odd Thursday race is in the books. 4 racers showed up to do battle so track calls were the flavor of the night.
Up 1st was f1 Policar and Al walked away with the win with Zack taking the runner up spot followed by Doc and then Mitch.
2nd race of the night was pge and the race was for Second with Zack running off in another time zone. when it was all said and done Zack took a easy win with Doc tsking 2nd by one tenth over Al and then Mitch.
Last race of the night was open and then was some very tight racing with a few heats side by side battles for three straight minutes Doc ended up edging Zack out for the win with Al taking 3rd followed by Mitch. the rest of the night was testing a tune time..

hopefully these helps with attendance on odd Thursday racing also

So, with these a done deal, what classes we run at the track going be decided on the track owners then? or why going to have a handful of cars that will be run. Asking because I don't have ton of 1/24 cars in my collection to choose from. I would hope we keep the womps class and just add one or two of the pacers' classes cars to the race night and keep it simple.

No Bill you are right on target. Me and Al had that same discussion last race. That we need to pick handful of classes and run those cars for a full year and then rotate one or two out and bring couple others in, so everybody knows what we are running for the next year or so. example
1.group c ak gfx
2. can am
3.sport car 1
4 sports car 2
5, trans am.
and that would be it for the full season
next season we can drop a few and add replacements from the list or if everybody likes what we have stick with it till it get stall and make a change..

Race report for odd Thursday 11/17/22 we had 5 racers show up for battle
Up 1st was Trans am class and Doc took the win followed by Greg and Rico in third followed by Dave and then Al.
up next was the points race and Doc once again took the win followed by Al and then Rico Dave and the Greg. we lost two racers, so the rest of the night was down to test and tune with Rico making major improvements on his trans am car. The points race has been a back-and-forth battle between Doc and Al with both of then dominating, Al pge and Doc the gfx classes with the other driver finishing 2nd to the winner, so it is a tight battle.
