Hey Guys, my neighbor on the west side of 52nd has asked that we don't block his gate. It's not real obvious , it's in his brown fence with a black latch in the middle . Your welcome to park in my driveway if you like. Thanks
Guys, I seem to have mislaid Al's address. Could someone please post it here? I may actually be able to race tonight!
Stan, I sent you an email with Al's address.
Thanks Al for a night of good close racing. The results were very close with some great on track battles. I took a couple of short videos of the GT-3 race. They can be viewed here:
We had another great night of racing at Al's Ripin' Ridin' Raceway! Last night's Odd Thursday Night race included the seventeenth race of the 2017 NASTE Point Series Championship. With only one race remaining, things are tight at the top! Going into the last race two points separate the top two.
The F1 Class was exciting last night with a variety of F1 cars represented from different manufacturers. Gone are the days of Scalextric's dominance of the F1 class. Unfortunately I had tyo leave early last night so I missed out on the BRM Group C race as well as the GT3 race. But I am sure both races were just as exciting and fun as the F1 and Classic Sports Car races were!
Thanks Al for yet another awesome night of racing!

Doc, you have been Mister Duece for most of the year! Last night it signified Two Win Duece!
Congrats!!!
Yet another fantastic night of racing at Al's Rippin' Ridin' Raceway! It was the last race of the 2017 NASTE Point Series Championship. With the point spread so close we all knew it was going to be a close finish in the Classic Sports Car Class. Chris Kouba set the bar for the night running his three heats mistake free and setting the fastest lap of the night at 7.524 seconds. Chris was clearly after the win besting the field by almost three laps! Mitch Brooks finished second with Rico Locati just 6/10s of a lap back, and Dan Fritz was third just 2/10s of a lap behind Rico. The win gave Chris the NASTE Point Series Champion title for 2017. Congrats to Chris! It was a hard fought battle and Dan Fritz deserves credit for being one of the most consistant racers all year long. Along with Dan's two wins he finished second six times and third three times.

Im not sure but was that the closes points battle in the history of the series Bill?
It very well could be. There have other close finishes but right off hand I can't say how many.
How about the year I won by beating the Flying one by a single point? Can't get much closer.
Had to outscore him by 6 points in the final race and did it with some help from the ladies that night. But I digress.
Congrats to all, it was a fun series.
I was looking back at some of the past seasons. Last year Flyin' Bryan and I were tied in points going into the last race which was the Shoot Out at Howie's Rapid Raceway. As I remember I won the championship by less than one lap! This year was also an extremely close race for the championship. Seven racers scored wins throughout the season, with four of them having multiple wins. It was an excellent season and I am very pleased with how it went!
So how do we go forward? When does the next "season" start? What classes will we run and how will we decide?
As I am currently in a state of transition I have not given this much thought. I think September is a good time to start the official racing season. I have considered the idea of letting the top three finishers in the point series championship each pick one class to race for the next season. Kind of gives some added incentive and reward to finishing well. I am open to suggestions.
I will start a new topic on this....
After completing the Carrera Scramble proxy last evening we did manage to race a couple of Odd Thursday classes. As always the racing was very close at Autumn Hills, sometimes too close. We decided to race GT-3 first with me leading the way in what I'm calling the silent destroyer (aka McLaren MP4-12C) with 49.3 laps. Monte was second in a borrowed mostly yellow car with 47.7 laps and Doc pulled out a third place with 45.6 laps.
We decided to race Classic Sportscars for round two. It was a mix of podded and non-podded cars but since no points were involved we really didn't keep track. Once again I led the way with 46.4 laps in my Fraser-Nash barely beating Al by .1 in his Greenwood 'Vette. Third was Stan in a borrowed Ferrari GTO with 44.0 laps just edging Doc and Chris who both had 43.9.
GT-3 Results:
1 Rico 49.3
2 Monte 47.7
3 Doc 45.6
4 Chris 44.4
5 Mitch 44.3
6 Al 42.4
7 Stan 41.4
Classic Sportscar Results:
1 Rico 46.4
2 Al 46.3
3 Stan 44.0
4 Chris 43.9
Doc 43.9
6 Mitch 42.4
7 Dom 32.5
I would also like to thank everyone who came out to help with the proxy, your contributions are invaluable.

I would like to thank you for having us over! It was fun to run the proxy, except for Tony's car, and it's nice to run some of my favorite classes just for fun and not the point series.
Thanks!
CK
Sounds like some great NASTE racing at the Hills! Sorry I had to cut out early. Unfortunately that may be my scenario for awhile longer.....
He was there?
