Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Thank you Al for another awesome night of racing at Rippin' Ridin' Raceway! As usual the racing was close and hard fought. Highlights include wins for Chris, Rico, Dan, and Mitch. Current trends: Mitch is killing everybody in the Over 50 Class, Chris and Rico win when they can make the races, Jeff and Dan are no longer mid pack rookies, and what the hell is up with the Goose not being on the podium???

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Odd Thursday Night racing at TooBad Motorplex. In addition to celebrating Jeff's birthday we had some really close fun racing! We started the night off racing the GT Class with Rico winning by only half a lap. Next we raced the fifth race in the NASTE 2017 Point Series Championship. Rico finished first again, this time by only half a lap over Beau. The third race brought he Over 50 cars to the grid. Mitch continued his winning streak by finishing one lap ahead of Howie. For the fourth race of the night we raced the new BRM Trans Am cars in an IROC style format. These cars are the same per-production cars that were recently raced at the BRM 24 Hour Endurance race in Tacoma. These are beautiful cars and we appraciate Chris and Monte letting us give them a spin....and a couple tumbles....Chris won the BRM Trans Am race by one lap. Lastly we lined up our BRM Group C cars for the final race of the evening. Chris again pulled out the win over Al by one lap. It was an excellent night of racing and I'd like to thank everyone that was able to make it out!

"Chris won the BRM Trans Am race by one lap."

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Oops.....my mistake. Chris won the BRM Trans Am race by one TENTH of one lap!

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

A true gentleman, thanks!

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

THANK YOU for letting us "run" your BRM Trans Am cars!!!......."Run' is quite close to "ruin" you know!

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Certainly an entertaining evening of racing.  To borrow a line from Repo Man: "That was intense".  I think my favorite part of the night was watching Stan nerf cars from the grey lane.  Not something entirely uncommon in itself but he was hitting cars in the white lane while using a borrowed car.  Excellent stuff.  Thanks to Bill for hosting and to everyone else for making it so fun.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Thanks, guys! It appears that nerfing is the ONLY talent I possess (that, and finishing last...)

I must thank Bill for loaning me his controller while mine was being repaired in Tacoma, and Chris K for helping me set up my birthday Slot-It GT40. Hopefully, it'll be competitive in the next GT race I can attend...

Too many dogs!

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

The weather is GREAT here, sunny and about 74 degrees, so I'm a little out of touch. I won't be back to the arctic until late tomorrow night (Thursday). I'll shoot Al an email message...........

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

It is supposed to be dry and cold tomorrow with partly clear skies. The roads should melt some but mostly be wore down to nothing by tomorrow afternoon. They will probably start freezing over by the time we head home, but there shouldn't be much moisture. It took me two hours and forty five minutes to get from downtown Portland to Tigard this evening. That seems like a regular odd Thursday commute for Monte.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

My guess is the roads will be ok tomorrow . I plan to have the race.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Good news, I was going to have to miss tomorrow's race due to the kids Christmas Concert which has now been postponed.  Bad news is the new date is Thursday Jan 5th.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I am not sure I will make it in tonight so the proxy may have to wait until the next time.  The news here is that the weather will not get above freezing today.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Roads look a little crappy on the web cams.  That said, I haven't been out yet because I don't have to...  Are we still on for this evening?

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I'm at work but not sure I will be here all day.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I'll probably be there, well you know how junkies are.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

The track will be open.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Well then, I am planning in being there.  See you eventually...
