Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread
I missed the arse-whoop in'. I had one of my 'Chet style race nights. My GT car was bouncing off stuff everywhere and the old grey ghost ain't what she used to be in classic sports car.

Hey Doc, That would be fine. I'll get the doors open by 3:00pm on the 25th!
TooBad Motorplex - Fairview on the 25th. I could give you a ride home after the race if you'd like. That way I could also find out where you live and where your track is exactly.

That will work out great. Thanks.

You're welcome Doc!
See you on the 25th!!!!
Odd Thursday Night race on August 25th at TooBad Motorplex -
We welcomed new comer Dick Gehrke to the group. Dick raced back in the 60s and brought along some great old vintage cars he used to race. It was obvious from what we saw of Dick's collection he was a hardcore slot car guy! It's good to see him back! It was also great to have Dan "Doc" Fritz back in the line up! Dan has been out due to an injury. Even hobbling around on a broken leg Doc finished fifth in the BRM race with an un-tested car! Nice job Doc, and it is so good to have you back! The overall buzz of the race tonight was "where's the Goose?"..................A mystery to be sure!
The night of racing started with the GT Class and eleven racers. After Rico whupped us we moved on to the Classic Sports Car Class and attendance had grown to fourteen racers. Mitch Brooks took the win in Classic Sports Car with his Slot.it Ford GT40. In fact the top three cars were Slot.it chassisied Ford GT40s with just 7/10 of lap separating first from third. Monte Saager's Ninco AC Cobra was third just one lap down making his the fastest Division 1 car of the evening. In the BRM Group C race Chris fought his way to the win narrowly beating Greg. And in the Over 50 Class it was Al returning to the top of the podium with another of his fast KTM powered cars, this time his Ford GT40 Roadster.

Cool.
Off to a good start for September! Odd Thursday Night Racing on September 1st -
We had a great crowd of 14 racers fielding cars for the Can Am / USRRC and Le Mans Classes. It was really nice to see Goose Gossett, Dennis Hart, and Jeff Burns back at the track.
The Can Am / USRRC cars took the track first. We had five cars entered in the USRRC Division. Monte Saager raced to the overall win and firts in the Can Am Division with his Slot.it Alfa 33/3. Gary Goose Gossett tied Dennis Hart for eighth overall overall and first in the USRRC Division driving his MRRC Chaparral.
In the Le Mans Class Goose showed he had lost nothing in the skill department by taking the win. Dan Fritz gave the Goose a good finishing second just over a lap behind. And just a lap behind Dan was Jeff Fields in third. It was a very close race!
After we had completed racing the Can Am and Le Mans classes we ran the first Oregon leg of the Pony Car Wars Proxy. Thanks to Monte for organizing this event and giving us the opportunity to run the cars. It was a lot of fun!

Thanks to all that were able to make it out for the night of racing!
Here's a photo of yet another Rannalli chassied modified ready for competition. This one was built by Dan Fritz.
I think there are enough of these out there ready to race to add them to my next Saturday race at TooBad Motorplex in a class of their own. This class will be designated the TBR (Team Bluegroove Rannalli) Modified Class.
HA! I got firts! Now there's a first.
A big thanks to Bill for hosting the Pony Wars Proxy and all the helpers. We hope to do it again at Al's in two weeks. See you there.
