Richard Phillis has sent an invitation for Oregon HO racers to form a team to compete in this years Fray in Fernadale. I am planning to attend and am looking for interested HO racers to join me in fielding an Oregon team. If you have never attended The Fray this is your chance! It is truly an event to be experienced! Re: The Fray in Ferndale
I am still recruiting for team members. So far I have interest from two active NASTE racers. I have also received inquiries from a club in eastern Oregon. If you have an interest in racing Aurora Thunderjet style HO cars, this is the event for you! Drop me a line and let's get organized! ========Bill

Re: The Fray in Ferndale
We had the pleasure of having Rick Phillis join us to participate in our NASTE IROC Race on December 19th. Rick is the promoter and host of the Fray in Ferndale. If you are an HO racer and have not heard of the Fray in Ferndale you really must check it out! This once a year event is the largest gathering of HO racers in the nation. The racing takes place on multiple routed type tracks with individual as well as team results. It is truly a spectacular thing to be a part of, and if you every get the chance to attend you should definitely do so!

Re: The Fray in Ferndale
Well it's getting close to the Fray In Ferndale for 2016. Sadly to say I have again this year failed on my attempt to return and compete. With that said I would like to officially start the ground work for a team formation for the 2017 Fray in Ferndale! Please, all you HO racers please start thinking about this and let's organize for a road trip in March of 2017!!!!

Re: The Fray in Ferndale
I spent the day today working with dave Smith on our cars for the 2017 Fray In Ferndale. I can't believe how well these cars handle! Once you learn the "secrets" it is just amazing! Thanks Dave for all the help!

Re: The Fray in Ferndale
I've been busy with "other" things, but I am quite sure Dave has been on task. We should think about hooking up with Dave for further R&D work. Things should slow down for me after mid September.

Re: The Fray in Ferndale
In preparation for next week's Fray in Ferndale race, Terry Abbott opened his doors and let us get some set up and practice time on his Buck Track. It looks like it will be Dave Smith, Anthony Schoepflin, Monte Saager, Mike Leech, and I on the Oregon Team for the 2017 Fray.
Thanks Terry for letting get some track time!

Re: The Fray in Ferndale
Yes indeed, thanks Terry. Though I've never been a big proponent of practice it was nice to get a feel for the cars with our controllers. It should be a fun time regardless of outcome.

Yeah, Monte, sometimes practice is over-rated, but it was good having you guys over and putting some laps in on my track. Have fun and maybe nerf a few people when they get too serious!

Re: The Fray in Ferndale
Thanks to Dave Smith I will have 4 cars for entries in the 2017 Fray. Dave built the four running chassis for me and I am very grateful! The cars run and handle beautifully! But I must say I just can't stand the looks of these cars!

Re: The Fray in Ferndale
I might get a little more excited using bodies that lend themselves more to open wheeled type cars. Like maybe some sort of super modified type cars?
Let's cut up some bodies!!!
