Topic: 24 Hours of Chaos - Tom's World Raceway in Bend - March 21st, 2026

Apologies for the short notice but I have scheduled a 4" flexi LeMans race for March 21 at Tom's World Raceway in Bend, the "24 Hours of Chaos".

This race is open to any steel 4 inch flexi chassis--Parma, Champion, JK, Mossetti, etc. Body type is to be that of a Lemans prototype that actually raced at 24 Hours of LeMans at any point in history, as long as it was a closed-wheel car. Motor is to be Hawk 7 only. Since a lot of these Lexan bodies are nowhere near close facsimiles of what they're actually supposed to be, car owners should be prepared to explain what car their body represents, and what year it raced at LeMans during tech inspection.

Cars will be run by teams of 2 persons. Teams will be somewhat randomly determined by drawing names out of a hat. Our local "B" drivers (our beginner group) and anyone coming over the hill who has never raced at Tom's will be pulling the names of our "90's" drivers (our fastest group), in an attempt to make all the teams fairly even. Anyone from over the hill who has prior track time at Tom's will be drawing the names of one of the local "A" racers (our middle group). In the event that both racers own a 4 inch flexi chassis, it is up to the teammates to choose whose car to race.

There will be no qualifying; starting order will be random. Heats will be 6 minutes long and each teammate will rotate though the lanes 3 times, alternating each time their car is on track. I'm borrowing rules from OSCAR in that cars will go into impound after tech inspection and whenever the car isn't actively racing. Teams' cars may not be worked on while their car is in impound. The "2 minutes before, 2 minutes after" rule for working on cars will be in effect.

Open practice is 4-8pm Friday, March 20th and Tom's opens at 8am on race day. Hopefully we can be racing by 10am. Race entry is $15 per person. Lunch provided by Captain Chaos at halfway point of race (3 rounds). Awards for each driver (2 per car) for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and hard luck and 1 best appearing car award.....to the owner of the car voted "best appearing". Hopefully that covers all of my bases, since this is the first race I've ever attempted hosting. And a very special thank you to Tom Street at Tom's World Raceway for graciously allowing me to hold this experimental event.

Hope to see you there,

Chris aka Captain Chaos
