Re: PASER RULES

New Rules now in effect - updated on Feb.3, 2023!

Re: PASER RULES

In response to inquiries, here is some clarification regarding the chassis rules for the Sportsman Class:

Chassis: Inline motor configuration only. Obviously, the chassis must have the motor in an inline configuration.

Chassis must be a rattle chassis (Hanna/Econo car type chassis). Rattle Chassis meaning no hinges. Once referred to as a "Slider Chassis".

No hinges, or hinged (floppy) side pans. Obviously, no hinged side pans allowed in any form.

The chassis cannot have more than two main components (center section & side pans assembly) with independent movement. Only the center section (one component) of the chassis and the side pans (the other component of the chassis) can move independently of each other.

Chassis must have a center section consisting of the inline motor mount and the guide flag tongue. The guide flag tongue and the motor mount, must be attached to the center section of the chassis as one single component.

Two side pans can be attached to the center section using tubing and wire, but the two side pans cannot be hinged to the center section. The side pans can be connected to the center section but, not by or with the use of a hinge.

Side to side, as well as up and down movement of the side pans is permitted. The side pans can move up and down or side to side, independently of the center section.

Re: PASER RULES

Womp Class rules updated April 8, 2023

Re: PASER RULES

The PASER Rules have been updated as of today 7/10/2023.

The rules will apply to the upcoming season which starts in September. We have gone to great lengths to simplify the PASER rules, while keeping within the original spirit of the group as intended by the original club founders.

Here are the noteworthy changes in the rules:

For the Can Am Class Hawk 7 or S16D motors may be used.

For the Production Sports Car Class Open S16D motors may be used (same motor rules as Late Model NASCAR).

The PASER Trans Am class has been shortened to just Trans Am. PASER and Northwest True Scale (NWTS) Trans Am classes are now the same, and carry the same name as well as sharing the same rules.

The PASER Sportsman Class has been renamed to Outlaw Sportsman. The legal bodies have been expanded and opened up to include ANY 1/24th or 1/25th 1958 to 1979 American make full or mid-sized cars. "Pony" cars are still NOT legal, but the new rule will allow cars like the Chevrolet Nova, Ford Fairlane, etc.

For the PASER 4.5 Flexi NASCAR Class the legal rear tires will we specified. Only Pro Track Daytona tires will be the spec/legal tires for the rear. The PASER Club will stock and inventory the tires so racers can buy them directly from the club at the races.

For the PASER 4"Flexi Class ALL four tires must touch and roll! It was found at the last race some of the front pans on the new JK car's chassis contact the track surface. The PASER Club will stock and inventory replacement "O" ring tires for the front of the RTR cars to eliminate this issue.

The WOMP Class motors will now be specified motors. The new spec motor will be the Professor Motor FK motor rated at 25k. The club will stock and inventory motors for racers to purchase. Since many of these FK motors look alike, the motors will be marked and identified as legal. Any motors purchased outside of PASER will need to be verified and marked. If it cannot be verified (i.e. new, unopened in the bag from Professor Motor) it will be deemed illegal. These motors are NOT expensive!

Our goal this season is to tighten up our rules a bit, and to continue providing great slot car racing for everyone! So Please, read through the rules and be sure your cars comply.

========Bill

Re: PASER RULES

Heads up: I am out of used RTR Womp cars for purchase. All I have left are used bare chassis. All the parts necessary to assemble a car are available through Bob Nak.

Yes, unless you already have a Professor Motor PMTR 1032, new in the bag so we can verify it as a legal motor and mark it with PASER identification.

If you do not already have a motor, purchase the legal motor from Bob Nak. The price will be the same as it would be purchased directly through Professor Motor. As of September 2023, motors for the Womp Class must be marked with PASER I.D. to be considered legal. If we cannot verify the legality of your motor, it will be considered illegal!

Re: PASER RULES

Rules updated Spt. 9, 2023.

The NWTS Classic NASCAR Class has now been designated as a PASER Class. The rules have been moved/placed under the PASER Rules. They are no longer listed with the NWTS Rules for Rapid Raceway.

Re: PASER RULES

And just where would these rules be posted?
This site has always been difficult to find anything.

I'm happy to accept input on that.

Hey Smooth, I do get a few questions and comments regarding where to find information. I made a slight change to the wording under the Home Page link to "Race Rules". When someone clicks on "Race Rules" they will now see "Rules For NASTE Odd Thursday Races - NWTS and PASER Rules are listed in the Forum". Hopefully that will help direct them to the proper spot. For the most part a person just needs to know which group or club's race rules they are looking for. For example; for racing at Howie's Rapid Raceway, you need the Northwest True Scale (NWTS) rules which are listed in the Forum under Rapid Raceway's heading. If you happen to look under Northwest True Scale's heading the link takes you to the rules listed in Rapid Raceway's forum. PASER Rules are listed under PASER's Forum heading.

It doesn't seem that tough to me, but then again I am in here all the time!

Re: PASER RULES

A BIG thanks to Monte Saager! He has updated the NASTE website to make it easier to find the rules for ALL the local clubs! Just click on "Race Rules" on the Home Page for the links.

Re: PASER RULES

The rules have been updated as of today, March 31, 2024.

A big thank you to Kirk Smith for his efforts in this re-write.

The format is now the same for each class making them easier to read and understand. The rules for each class can be printed off individually as a single page.

Re: PASER RULES

There has been a request to allow brushless motors for use in PASER classes. I told the person requesting I would post it up for discussion and let the club members decide. Please post your comments or views here.

Re: PASER RULES

So I have some experience  with brushless  from my rc days. When they 1st came out there was lots of teething issue and the price tag was a big struggle  with racers. Slowly they worked out the issues and the price  came down were it was affordable  for racers. . Been following  the slot car side and there still some teething  issues still people are seeing problems with what controller  work with the system  and ones  that don't. I'm going to wait and see were it goes but if it anything  like they RC side it will be the way to go.
