Sherry raced her "guinea pig", but it sure looked like a RAT to most of us!

October 25, 2018 was the date for the first point series race of the 2019 season. Held at Rippin' Ridin' Raceway as part of the Odd Thursday Night Races it was a close and exciting race. But backing up a bit, the night of racing started out with a round of Classic Sports Car 1 class racing. The entries in this class seemed to be Ninco Jaguar XK120 heavy! At one point during the race there were three Jags on the track racing, occupying all three lanes of the track! Evidently the Jags are one of THE cars to race!

After the Classic Sports Cars were thoroughly thrashed driver's attentions were turned to entries for the point race. For this point race the Can Am Class cars were the designated tool. In this class the racing in the middle of the field was very close, but Al and Doc clearly had the field covered. Those guys were just plain FAST!

After the Can Am race the crowd cleared out some. The remaining racers brought out their Open Class cars for some really quick laps. The new Thunderslot cars are considered the best in this class, but Al showed everyone his Slot.it Porsche 962 set up with an inline motor could handle the competition.

It was a fun and exciting night of racing and for me it felt good to get back into the swing of things, especially visiting with all the racers. Thanks Al!

Stan, it is located on SE 174th, eastside Portland.

I'm looking forward to getting out to run on your track also!

Here's some photos of Bob Nakamura's Ogilvie 8 lane track during the set up process. Bob now has the track pieces set into place and on their legs.

And there's the key to our annual Halloween race, making it around!!!!

I think we may have had heat races in the past where the entry that made it all the way around at least once, won!
