Now that's not a GPS unit on the dash is it? If we need a GPS to get to the bottom of the hill we might not finish so good.

I might have to join you, my new front ties came today, but my track is too small to get up to tire hopping speed. I suppose I could turn the voltage up, but there is a wall behind turn one.

According to my wife, the trick is to paint the car the color you want the stripes, then mask off the stripes, paint over the tape with the same color. After it dries paint it again the color you want. Later when you peel the masking off it won't have bled through. I've yet to try it myself, but the next one I do, I'm going to do it.

I have the Gulf Porsche 962. Are we racing these stock? Mag, or magless?

Sounds like a good time. I had to deliver my sister's car to Centralia Sunday morning. I tried  to make it but there was a fiery wreck on I-5 that put and end to that.

Thinking about the weekend racing, we get people who can't get to all of the races so they race infrequently, they may not own a car to fit into any given class. The IROC format is really the only chance they get to compete no matter how serious they are. As for track owners always supplying cars, I'm sure that between us regular racers we could come up with a permanent fleet of Ninco Jags, or Corvettes, or even Slot it Porsches. Some front motored cars might be fun for a change. In stock form these are all pretty well bullit proof. Just a thought.

It might be the way I drive, or the way I build, but you'll notice, I always bring two of whatever we are racing.

At this point it looks like our downstairs will be vacant by the end of summer. I hope to renovate the family room and build a new three lane 68' track down there over the winter. That will give us another track to work into the rotation.

I like the falcon motors, our DS and PM controllers can run them all day long without getting hot. I have a couple of super 16Ds that I cannot complete a 3 minute heat at Howie's without the power fading.

Every time I go there I want to dig out my HO stuff and set up another track. I might have to build a 4x8 track that can roll under the larger track. And thanks guys and Dorothy, the food was great.

You can get the axle and gear, you can look at CB design wheels and see if there is something you like, I have used several patterns and the quality has always been excellent, or you can do has Bill has, he used plain insert style wheels and ground down the stock wheels and made inserts out of them, they looked great and original.

Dan, Slot it axles and gears will fit your pioneer Camaro

Yes, thanks Al for hosting and thanks guys for the competition. It was great to get out to a track again, already looking forward to the next one. Meanwhile swapping motors, gears, guides, tires, ect.

Nice job guys.

Thanks Al, it was a great time. I'll have to spend a little more time in the red lane. It just doesn't  like me.

Old Thread different year.
Thanks to Rico and his family for having us out for another race. I had a great time . Your new tape worked great, the cars power line was smooth and consistent all the way around the track.

Bill & Monte,
Took some of your tires home and put them on a few cars. They are wonderful, great job. My only regret is that I didn't get more while I was there. I just installed them with out any sanding and they are wonderfully round and smooth, the compound you used has excellent grip on my old Strombecker track. I'll try them on Al's track on Thursday, speaking of Thursday, bring them with you and I'll get some for my Slot it GT cars.

Re: Fly tires, my 906 has 10mm tires, the newer Porsches and T70s have wider tires, the 250GTO has a tall tire on an odd size wheel. I don't know about the others.
