In regards to the practice session, I thought the timed practice session worked well. Any comments?

Also, the turn out for the Sunday race was excellent! Anyone feel like maybe we should switch to Sunday races instead of Saturdays?

We used to run timed practices at BSCC and they worked well and we just formed a line while waiting for a turn.

Sundays would be a mixed bag for me, much like Saturday events.

Eeewwwww!

Dom and I had fun yesterday although he was a little disappointed at finishing last but he really liked the track.  I will relish my third place in what was an extremely close race.

Sounds like you guys had a good time. When you going to start bringing kids to Thursday night racing? Although i assume they are busy with school sports.

AJ was just home for the weekend and is back in Eugene. I usually head to Bill's from work to save on commute time so it's doubtful that I will be bringing Dominic on Thursdays but he is enjoying the Naste Saturday races.

Don't remember you having track problems.

It wasn't really a problem, but I had raised the bridge up a 1/4" for clearance reasons a while back and had done a quickie job on the corresponding track support and track aprons weren't properly supported and kept coming off during crashes.  Hopefully I have a better solution this time.

I unburied the track today, cleaned and dusted the surface and did some paint touch up. Next I made some better spacers for under  the corner leading up to the first bridge.  The new spacers had to be tested so AJ, Dominic and I ran 300 laps or so.  AJ and I had a Reprotec Fiat duel for the ages. I may still do a little more tweaking but I'm happy with results for the most part.

Thanks Bill for another terrific Thursday night race, I had a great time racing, B.S.ing and eating junk.  Looks like I may have to do some upgrades as well on my T/A cars.

That's too bad Chris, what a bummer. Can you turn it into the roadster version?

You haven't built any unauthorized sheds have you?

I found this on EBay and it's a very fair price for a very good Difalco controller if anyone is interested:

If you're like me you have lots of spare slot car tires laying around whether they be new, used or waiting for Bill to try.  They seem to clutter up my work bench and it's tough to keep track of what exactly they are and what car they are for.  I ran across these this morning at Dollar Tree and thought they may help keep things more organized.

Dominic and I had a good time as well, he is already looking forward to the next race.

Thanks Bill for another fun filled Odd Thursday, I had a great time visiting, eating and being Ricochet'd.

Amelia and her team won the "Battle of the Books" contest at school and will be representing her school in the Championship.  You ask: "Why is this important?" (Other than the obvious reason) Because it's on March 14 and we will be in Wilsonville most of the day.

I'd guess you're correct in stock form but with the right upgrades may be a decent runner.

Wasn't it PT Barnum who said there's a sucker born every minute?  EBay must have a magnetic pull on them.

What would not be fair is to not count points for those who host races.  Why penalize someone who takes the time and effort to host a race? Some people are generous to host multiple races while others host none, so with this logic it would be better point wise to not host let alone doing it more than once.  The new rules will negate the issue to a certain extent in that the expert class are the only ones racing for points so the intermediate and novice classes are not affected by the host performing well.  If there are fewer points races next year as has been indicated, not receiving points at any race will be an even larger penalty. Besides most of the experts are more than capable of winning on any track on a given night.
