Not a new car at all, just the Black Arrow Ferrari 458 you've all seen and raced.  It was Monte with the new purple MR Slotcar McLaren.

So, did you enjoy running your new toy? ;-)

Thanks to Monte and Victoria for hosting todays race.  The small turnout did not diminish the amount of fun we had and we certainly had WAY more than enough food.  After eating Victoria's fiesta all afternoon, Kelly made flank steak, grilled cauliflower and artichokes.

I'm in such a food coma...

Thanks again
Rico

Again?

Looks like you all had fun.  Looks like Monte brought a knife to a gun fight especially in the Classic Sports car class.

Thank you to everyone that came out and raced yesterday.  I was a bit worried about traction issues early on but the track eventually rubbered in and the racing was back to normal with the Hills providing some close and exciting action.  Once again the Fiats proved they are up to the task and really are a blast to race.  Some cars are always difficult to race and only the most experienced can get a handle on them but the Fiats just love to be pushed hard and it's just so easy to do.  At one point I think Bryan had all four wheels off the track but somehow managed not to deslot. I'm with Bill and love the Punto's too or was that Punta's?

I originally had planned to run Revell Lola T-70 CanAm bodies with Slot.it GT-40 chassis but I ran out of time to finish the second car, so the Fly Porsche GT-1's were pressed into service.  They proved a little difficult for some but performed flawlessly.

I want to thank Kelly for laying out such a nice spread of food.  That pork went in the oven Saturday evening and cooked all night long. Smelling most delicious the whole time.

Thanks again to all that showed up, it was fun.

I thought for the most part all of the Fly classics took the same tire?

And you guys are pretty good at retreading this tire(d) puns.

You guys rock!!

Thanks for hosting last night Bill.  I had a great time racing and visiting, right until I went to leave and my Ferrari 612 Can Am was MIA.  Not to worry, the car has been located, PHEW!  I have no problem sharing my cars with others but please try to put them back in my box/area and not some other racers.

Regards
Rico

Thanks Bill.  I was kind of hoping to see how mine stack up against the competition, so please save results of race if you are able.

Just a reminder, Bill's opening early today and we'll do a race with cars prepped per the regs on page 4 (http://naste.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5745#p5745).  Doors open at 3, aiming to run around 4 so we can be done and get back to the normally scheduled event for the night.

I was hoping to test my cars for this class but I cannot be there by 3:00 as I have to work to feed my family.

Nice work!

Thanks Bill for another night of action packed racing action. Goose, I owe you one.  One big nerf that is ;-)

Ferrari 512's, Chevron B19/21, Porsche 908, Lola T-70 and quite a few others that take the same tire.

Anybody else have a particular car they are planning to race in this new class?

Are Fly Classic tires available through the club(you)?  I know Paul Gage makes them but I would be curious to see how they would compare against each other.
