I like this 1/24 scratchbuilt car for its detail work and simple chassis construction. The little things are what I think makes the scratchbuilt cars so cool. They are true one-of-a-kind creations! Somebody put in a lot of work and love to create these cars. It's even better when it is obvious they have been raced! This one has cool details like the exhaust system, and the paint on the driver's helmet...And yes, the driver appears to be a BIG guy!

This is one of my more recent acquisitions, the illusive Cox Chaparral 2E with the working wing. This is the La Cucaracha version. I got this car in an HO slot car collection purchase. This car was in pieces, mixed in with a big box of Aurora Thunderjet track. I found all the pieces except for the roll bar/headrest piece that fits behind the driver's head. I also found another complete Cox La Cucaracha Ferrari, a La Cucaracha Ferrari Coupe body, and a Cox 1/24 gas powered Pontiac GTO tether car in the same box!

1/24 Monogram Midgets are hard to find is good used shape. The small detail parts are usually broken off if the car has been run at all. This one is in pretty good shape considering it has been used. Obviously it wasn't used much, and run carefully.

The second shelf down in my display case is where the 1/24 cars start. Like the 1/32 cars, the 1/24 cars I collect are for the most part cars I just like, and my reasons vary widely! They don't have to be perfect, in fact I prefer cars that are not perfect! I love the ones that have been used and abused. I like the idea that I can pull any of my cars out of the case, throw on a fresh set of tires and run it without worrying about damaging it!

This is a DuBro bodied Scarab on a slightly modified Cox magnesium chassis. I like the paint.....

1/24 AMT hardbody Mustang coupe. Whoever built this one did a really nice job on the paint! I also like the way the body was lowered on the chassis.

This 1/24 Buick stock car is from the Norton Gaston collection. Model car body mounted on a modified production chassis, powered by a 36D motor. Norton and his father Jerry used this color scheme on many of the stock cars they built.

Here's another 1/32 car that falls into my DKWW (don't know where or when) I got it category. I have no idea who built this car but it is nicely done!

I don't know who built this 1/32 Ferrari, but I like it!

Racer built some of the most beautiful 1/32 cars! They were also pretty good performers with chassis based on Slot.it components. This Gulf livery P68 Fords is one of my favorites!

This 1/32 Cox Cheetah has a little bit of a background story. When I was about 13 years old I got this car in kit form. I assembled the car, but I never ran it on a track. That was about 1968. Around 1981 I traded this car to my friend Gary "Goose" Gossett for HO cars. When Goose passed and I bought his collection from his son Steven and I got this Cheetah back. I doubt it will be leaving my collection again..

This 1/32 Scalextric Lister Jag is probably the oldest Scalextric car I have. It has the typical styling of an early slot car. I like it!

This old Strombecker 1/32 Ford GT40 is in my collection just because I like the way the original owner painted and detailed it. It is different from the other GT40s I've seen. The paint and detailing is pretty well done. Unfortunately I have no idea who did the work.

Yeah, it doesn't look much like it, but I am making progress! I'll be posting more photos in the next few days. I want to document as much of my collection as I can, someday it will all be gone from my world. Right now this display case contains 112 cars. Most are 1/24 cars.

Here's a Strombecker Ferrari someone painted and detailed. It's really clean and they did a pretty good job! Unfortunately I have no idea who completed the work on this one.

This is an example of a 1/32 Cox La Cucaracha that came with a clear body. It appears the original owner completed some detailing of the body. What I like best about these cars are the original magnesium wheels! The chassis on this one is really clean and original!

My hunt for one of these Aurora 1/32 Corvairs started many years ago. While looking through stuff at an antique show, I cam across one of these Aurora Corvairs. It was missing the front and rear detail parts (headlights and the rear body panel). I figured I would be able find these parts on Ebay easy enough, so I bought it (it was cheap!). Well I would bid on incomplete and broken cars on Ebay, just for the parts I needed. Every time I was outbid, and sometimes these "junk" cars would go for almost $100! Then one morning this 99% complete car (missing rear bumper) popped up for a "Buy-It-Now" price of around $80. I had to buy it!

Here's another 1/32 Monogram F1 Lotus. This one is complete and in good condition. The original rear wheels and tires were replaced, I assume in an effort to improve the car's performance. Check out the "handkerchief" detail added to the driver....Cool!

This 1/43 dirt car was built by Larry Anderson in Canada. Larry and I became friends about 20 years ago through the internet. Unfortunately somewhere along the line I lost contact with Larry. I hope all is well with him. He built some very nice cars! This scratchbuilt body is mounted on an Artin 1/43 chassis.

Looks like it's been a couple years since I last posted a photo of my progress in getting the shop's upstairs organized. Well I'm still at it. It may not really look like it, but you'll have to take my word for it, I have made progress since that last photo I posted in May of 2021. Look, you can actually walk from one end of the room all the way to the other!........But seriously...I've decided to get back to some Ebay selling around September.......

Where are you guys meeting for breakfast? And what time?

Heads up: I am out of used RTR Womp cars for purchase. All I have left are used bare chassis. All the parts necessary to assemble a car are available through Bob Nak.
