Great racing tonight Bob! Thanks!

Another awesome race Howie! I can't believe how close the racing is with the Porsche 962s! I think the field has tightened up since Zack made the 2NASTE chassis available to all! That and the fact the new guys are no longer new guys and just plain FAST guys!

Rules edited.

I would like some clarification on what cars are legal for a few of the new classes:

1) Slot.it/Policar Classic- I spoke with Doc last night about whether the Policar Ferrari 330p4/412P was legal and he said it was on the list but the Policar listed is actually a BRM F1 car (Policar PCAR06A)

2) Slot.it DTM- The list of cars has the Mercedes 190E but not the C-Class.  The lastest releases from Slot.it are called C-Class and not 190E. See the yellow ProMarket (CA53a) car and the upcoming white Warsteiner car (CA54a). The original 190 releases are getting harder and more expensive to find. The only silver release (CA44c) I can find is on Ebay for $90.00 plus shipping. Are we going to include these cars?

Rico aka Chet

if it a slot it dtm car it is legal. Not counting rivets.  I must of copy  and pasted the wrong car. But the 330p4/412p is legal. Will have to have Bill edit the rule post

I guess maybe you didn't catch what I was pitching.........I really don't want to have to update the "eligible cars" list everytime a new car comes out.

I would suggest a modification to the rules:

Where the current rule reads:

"eligible cars:
Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti
Mercedes 190E
Nissan Skyline GT-R
Opel Calibra"

I would suggest modifying the rule to read:

"Eligible cars include, but are not limited to the following Slot.it DTM cars:
Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti
Mercedes 190E
Nissan Skyline GT-R
Opel Calibra"

Same goes for the Class 9 -Slot It/Policar Classic Class. I think it is better to give some examples of legal cars versus defining which cars are actually legal, thus creating and endlessly changing list.

My 2 cents ========Bill

That is one of the drawbacks of having a list of specific cars legal for any class. Especially when it comes to these 1/32 RTR cars where new cars are released multiple times per year! It is a nightmare to try and keep the list updated!

Team Bluegroove is offering the racers in the Can Am Class a 20% discount on bodies purchased through their website. Contact me for the discount code to use on your orders.   =======Bill

Also, I received this info from Marty today:

FYI - I found a decal guy in Canada that has an arrangement with Team Blue Grove, see below. Like Team Blue Groove most of his business is RC, but he can make any scale. My decals were for a cost $8 or $9 for 1/24 Nascar.

Today I learned Beau Frazier passed away. Beau had been ill and was in the hospital when he passed this morning. Beau was a good friend to everyone here in the Pacific Northwest slot racing scene. He was a great builder and competitor as well as mentor. He was always available to lend a hand and or advice to anyone. He held a position of admiration, and his contribution to our local racing scene is beyond measure. He will truly be missed by all!

OSCAR held a race for their Late Model NASCAR Class on Saturday December 10th. We had 10 racers on hand to compete. Bob Nakamura was the recipient of the Racers Choice Award for his beautiful red #3 Chevrolet. That's right, Bob entered a Chevy!

Over the years I have come to really appreciate the OSCAR Race format. Races are held on Saturdays with a Friday night practice session preceding the day of racing. Doors open early on Saturday, with tech inspection at 9:30am. Racing starts at 10:00am with qualifying, which I like as it adds some formality to the event. Qualifying is a timed session where each racer tries to post their quickest lap. Racers qualify one at a time on the track for their timed session. Racers pick their race starting positions based on their qualifying position.

Saturday's race consisted of the OSCAR standard 4 minute heat races, with 4 rounds of racing (a round equals each racer racing all four lanes of the track once). What was evident early on in the race was how close the competition was! Eight of the ten racers were posting lap times under five seconds! Each racer got just over 2 hours of on track, head to head racing time. By 4:30pm we had a winner!

John Gill drove an exceptional race to take the win. On a side note John's motor died in his last and final heat race, with him coasting to a stop right as time ran out! Tom Street came in second 17 laps behind John, and Gary Tipton finished third just 7 laps behind Tom. Stuart Wall finished in fourth. The complete race results are posted below.

Thanks to everyone that made it out to make this race a success and extremely fun!   ======Bill

This race was a great kick-off for the Even Thursday Night Racing!

Thanks Howie!

Since I have been out of the 1/32 racing for awhile now, I am fine with whatever you guys decide.

Doc,

I don't think I have seen the final draft of the new rules. Are they just new "Class Rules"? I will move the existing class rules to an inactive file and post the new rules once they are finalized.

Are you keeping the existing "General Rules" or are those changing as well?
