Ok, ok, vacation is over...............RATS!!!!
Here are some photos of my Maui Slot Car Buddy Thom Leonard and a portion of his fantastic collection:
Thom is in the process of assembling a club facility for slot car racing on Maui. What could be better than racing slot cars while vacationing in paradise?
These photos depict but a portion of Thom's extensive collection. His collection includes some very limited issue cars, as well as special limited production sets. I just drooled for hours!!!!

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........................................crap!!!!...............maybe you need a vapor barrier??????!!!!!!
How much room do you have between the blue lane and middle lane on the front straight?
Since the photo shows the cars in positions on the same lane, how about a thin wall barrier between the blue lane and the middle lane on the front straight just in that area?

A thin strip of plastic as a barrier wall next to that from straight will work. I think I have some material that would work.... -----------------Bill

I settled on a Porsche 917 Spyder for the first race. Didn't have time to finish up my Ford GT40.
The NSR tires I got wouldn't fit the Spyder. Not enough clearance between the tire sidewall and the top of the fender.
I'm going to try the Yellow Dog urethanes.

Re: Low budget cars (1 replies, posted in Cars)
You are right on the mark as far as I'm concerned! Building low buck cars and creating low budget classes is a real challenge but very rewarding! Our 1/24 NASTE chassis cars were based on this principle. Simple brass chassis, cheap Radioshack ($5) motors, and hard rubber model airplane tires (they never wear out). And as you stated they are still one of the most fun classes we race!!!! Thanks for your perspective!!! ----------Bill

John, Thanks again for another great race! I always enjoy your events! There is plenty of track time for each racer, and the competion is close. I had the opportunity to meet more of the people in your area which is always a pleasure. I'm looking forward to your next event! -----------------Bill

I guess that might be the easiest. They're readily available, and most everyone around here has at least one! I suppose you could also spec that motor for other classes....
