Topic: New Ninco

Looks like Ninco has stepped up to the plate with Slot.It and NSR.........

Here's the chassis under the new Lamborghini:

Quick notes, motor mount pod secured to chassis with three screws, set screw locked pinion gear, motor secured to mount with screws, rear axle stops with set screws, and oil holes in rear axle bushings. Looks pretty nice!   ------------Bill

Re: New Ninco

That looks nice, did you add all those decals?

Re: New Ninco

Hey Bill is that chassis with the pod a Ford GT or the Lambo?

Re: New Ninco

I did add the decals, but I failed to use decal set to apply them. They were very old and when I applied a coat of Future they crinkled up. So now I am in the process of re-applying new decals (with decal set!).

The cars I have seen that have the new pod type chassis are the new ProRace Lightning versions of the Lamborghini, Ford GT, and the new Renault Megane.

And speaking of the new Ninco pod chassis, here's a couple things I don't like; the bodie's windows are too darkly tinted for me, and the rear axle assembly seems to pop out of the axle bearing brackets pretty easily (we'll do some testing Sunday at Monte's and see if its a problem or not).

Re: New Ninco

It will be interesting to see if the cars have the Ninco hop or if the pod helps get rid of that.  If so, I bet those axles pop right out of their sockets.

Although that pod does look pretty substantial compared to the typical Ninco motor mount on the cars I have.  I've snapped a number of chassis for the Ferrari 360's.  And they weren't even being stressed at the time.  The lexan chassis seem the worst for that.  My McLarens on the other hand have had countless laps put on them with nary an issue.

Re: New Ninco

I can't believe Ninco would use lexan for their "high performance" chassis. I've used lexan for various parts before and it is brittle and breaks fairly easily. Maybe they've also learned as the new pod chassis are not lexan.
