breaking new flash........ these just came across the wire... the racing was hot and fast to night at Al's man cave. all the racers were putting down amazing laps and the result was that records fell like the autumn leaves in a wind storm, when it was all said and down doc pulled out the broom for the sweep and won all three classes. Results forth coming.
thanks again Al for opening your doors and letting us race in your cave..

1st odd Thursday points race for the new season starts tonight. If anything shows from the last time we raced these class is that we all will be fighting for second behind Al little 962 rocket ship.
Sorry I was going to come but co worker called in sick so. I'm stuck working on my day off.
So any rules on body type, can am gtp nascar???
LOLA T70 MKIII
LOLA T70 CAN-AM
McLaren M6A
McLaren ELVA Mk.I CAN-AM
I can tell that just switching from the coup to the spider body i picked up a full second with my car. The McLaren m6a is a little wider but looking at the on going can am proxy have good showing of both models running in the top 5.. so I say there really close if not dead even..
Yes I think Mitch has all 4 models.
Mmm I wonder what kind of times a thunderslot would do just pulling it out of the package and running it
I ran mine in the class as a test to see how it would go ran 6.2 all day with it. Best I could get with my slot it were 6.3 with my average in the 6.4's. With that all said they are close. But in the end AL ran a perfect race with no de slots and I also had perfect run and ended up taking the win by three laps when it was all said and done. So I'm on the fence and will let the club vote on what to do. We still need to see what a well tuned nsr can am will do. That may be another can of worms...

This rule change will put my Slot It Cam Am cars on the shelf. I voted for the Cam Am class for one of the points race classes as it was which was a good competitive class. To change the rules within a week of confirming the point race classes with little discussion and a questionable vote does not seem quite right to me.
I thought you said you were on board last odd Thursday night race? we can all have a discussion about it again these next race and move the the class to the end of the season to get more feed back from more racers in you feal that is what is needed. Im good with what ever we has a group want to do. I was thinking change would be more towards the new racers. coming in.

or we can change open to gt3 open and have some fun with those type of cars..most clubs across the world have such class and there is big proxy out there with over 30 cars trying to make the race.
my math is fine race 3min heat times three right there 10 sectors to the track .5 is half a lap so 1.5 after 9min of racing...
I agree for most of classes that might be the case.
sport car one and two there are a number different make of cars and scratch built and all seem to run very close. the rest are manufacturer base classes that have only one or two makes running in them top..
le mans
trans am
gt3
maybe the can am will all go thunderslots but I think the racing going be very close either way.
kidvolt wrote:"A few and a couple" against the standard out-of-the-box car. Imagine what that Thunderslot might be like with time invested in it like was invested in the few and a couple - which is what will be next.
I'm ok with this but for the majority it's just buy a Thunderslot and go racing.
We could also do lap adjustments for those that still want to run non thunderslot car in the class. Would have to see what the lap times are before jumping to any conclusions. But say .5 per heat that would be 1.5 laps. Or set the track break out to 6.0 seconds and if you have a non rider brake out lapp does not count. But all that can be adjusted as we start to race and see were we are at between manufators.
we discussed it at the last race and all were aboard. posted here to see if anybody wanted to chime in, few did so seeing no negative response...
I dont see anybody so far speaking out against so I say it is a go and remove the thunderslot from not eligible list for can am class.

i dont think the track will fit the bad motor scooter....
ant but if there is any then Sunday works say 130ish
I take the the 14 and 18 k h&r motors both needed in projects cars I'm building.
That is six confirmed yes and zero no so far
Another odd Thursday night racing as come and gone.. we had 5 racers show up to do battle on the course know as Rippin' Ridin' Raceway.. the battles on the track were close and the slightest mistake or touch cost you time on the track that once lost was hard to get back. So with that said, it was who ever made the least amount mistake would come out on top to night.. 1st class run was classic 1 and Al put in 3 clean heats with only a off to slow him down to take the win with Mitch taking a hard earn 2nd.
Up next was the always fast and close battles. hand down the number uno class people want to run... let hear it for Le Mans
these was the class to watch as the top three battle neck and neck for 9 min straight there was no quarter given as the drivers battle to pull out a lead on the other cars . once again it was who ever made the least mistakes was going to take the win tonight.... drum roll please......... and the winner to night was Doc taking the win by two laps. with Al taking 2nd and Mitch just two tenth back. on the same lap.
up next was open and once again doc took the win with Al and Mitch 2nd and 3rd.
was good to see Gregg and Jeff back from his west coast tour. and thanks To Al for opening his doors so can be little boys again.. hope once the rain sets in we will start to see more racers show and join in the fun... till next time stay safe and do not eat the yellow snow...
Current rules states
Thunder slot brand cars are NOT eligible for this class (2/4/2018)
These thread is to see as a club that we drop the non eligible and allow them to run in the can am class. only thing I would add is drop the magnet for new racers in can am if a thunder slot is used
1. these will help new racers getting into the class get up to speed faster.
2. keeps cost down
3. well tuned slot it are just as fast
we also have the following rule that can be used ;
4. In the event a racer wins more than one race with the same car (thus establishing a pattern of dominance in any class) a vote may be taken of the racers in attendance to determine if the racer will be assessed a handicap (of 1 lap or more) for future races when racing that particular winning car. The handicap only applies to the winning car/driver combination. The racer can de-tune the car with a substantial motor downgrade, or switch to another car to avoid the handicap.
we only had 5 racers make the show tonight and all were in favor of running the Thunder slots in the class.
the sponser of the class has given the ok for the change. just need to hear from the rest of the club on yes or no..
so please reply with a yes or a no thanks and lets go racing...
