Monday OT - November 1, 2021
'Niler racing on Mondays (SE-niler that is). Yes us old retired guys are dominating the Monday racing right now. With the exception of working man Daniel (Doc), us old farts have taken over Inslot's Checkered Flag on Mondays! The evening crowd has yet to exceed our numbers or enthusiasm!
The first WOMP race started at approximately (did I mention we're retired?) high noon. The WOMP races are 10 lap heads up sprint races. Points are used for scoring, and driver's point totals determine the winners. The first qualifying round of racing is round robin driver rotation. After the first round elimination rounds are held with either the top, or top two drivers advancing. We had 6 entries for this race.
WOMP Qualifying Round Results:
Doc 13 points
Bill 13
Dave 12
John 11
Al 7
Mitch 4WOMP Semi Round Results:
John 16 points
Dave 10
Al 9
Mitch 5WOMP Final Results:
Bill 14 points
Doc 11
John 8
Dave 7After the WOMP races we moved right into the Flexi race. For the Flexi races we run one round with the standard round robin rotation with 4 minute heats. We had the same 6 participants for this race.
Flexi Results:
Doc took the win in the Flexi race by 4 laps. John Gill was second and I finished third. Doc got to add another hash mark to his signature on the coveted PASER WEENER (weekly-winner) CUP!
that pic has to go bye bye....
that is great to hear. glad it found a new home..
so how did the reunion go. looked like the weather sucked
RACE REPORT........ we had a light turn out but that didn't hurt the racing. Up 1st was the gt3 class and doc took the win by two laps over Al with Rico taking the last step on the podium. Up next was the money race sport car 1 and Al was on cruise control and won by multable laps over mitch in 2 and doc rounding out the final step.. up next was open and the thunder was rumbling in the Al man cave.. these thunderslot are just a joy to drive. Fast and stable. Only thing that slowed them down was the track calls. Doc rebounded from is poor showing in the sport car 1 race and put the smackdown on the field. After the race Al was spotted looking for the source of that sector and A half coast doc car did during a track call.he should of been looking at the anchor on his car... thanks once again Al for opening your tack up to race on..
Just trying to do my part and keep the excitment up here.
Well it is the day of another odd Thursday race day. Classes to night are gt3 and sport car 1. Let's see if Al can get is mojo back and get back to the top step of the podium.... rumor is that he has spent a many sleepless night down in the slot cave trying to find the sub 6 sec lap. Only time will tell if all that work played off or will some one else snatch victory and the glory..
The credit needs to go to the womp whisper. that thing was a hand full to drive till Dave used his magic tire pixie dust onto the car. poof it was like night and day....
no more late night prowling on Sunday anymore....
Calendar for Upcoming Events needs to be adjusted to your new times for Monday's
I heard they cancelled NHRA Hot Rod Reunion looks like a major sponsor pulled out at the last moment
it seems that Medline Industries, Inc the top manufacturer-suppliers of walkers decided that there new small block powered walker would not be ready saying that safety and noise concerns made them pull the product from the reunion.. there were many looking forward to testing the new walker the local Golden Corral Buffet & Grill. and drag stripe
with such short notice there were not able to get another sponsor to take there place..
Trying to find a dry day that line up on a day I'm off these time of the year is tough.
It still there. If you want it you can have it
I dont see it getting set up any time at my place. So if you want it it yours. Just give montie a call to set a time to pick it up.
did you check the car for magnets Howie? Did Bill distract everyone during tech?
Had family in town am bummed I missed it, look forward to the next race.
if need to scratch that racing itch, there is odd Thursday at Al's and open Mondays at Bill's. both have great racing to be had..
I can't believe you thought a child's game was more important than slot racing!
Just kidding. Great result for Dom and Dad both!
Well done!
It's called anger management. He takes all the weeks frustration out on the reef.
