I wonder if we contact Allen and see if we could get a club deal on 3 of the new  RevoSlot RS0133A Alfa Romeo GTA White Kit 1:32 if we tell him that we are trying get more people involved in the hobby.  everybody springs 20 or 30 Washingtons might be worth a shot. Hey Monte you still on good terms with Allen? think these is something he would be up for? If not maybe three of us good spring for one each and if it does not work out, we have another car we add to our ever-expanding list

well that it for our little look back into odd Thursday racing history. lots of names there that we have lost or no longer come out to race.... all are missed

And my 1st race back from my injury.
Odd Thursday Night race on August 25th at TooBad Motorplex -

We welcomed new comer Dick Gehrke to the group. Dick raced back in the 60s and brought along some great old vintage cars he used to race. It was obvious from what we saw of Dick's collection he was a hardcore slot car guy! It's good to see him back! It was also great to have Dan "Doc" Fritz back in the line up! Dan has been out due to an injury. Even hobbling around on a broken leg Doc finished fifth in the BRM race with an un-tested car! Nice job Doc, and it is so good to have you back! The overall buzz of the race tonight was "where's the Goose?"..................A mystery to be sure!

The night of racing started with the GT Class and eleven racers. After Rico whupped us we moved on to the Classic Sports Car Class and attendance had grown to fourteen racers. Mitch Brooks took the win in Classic Sports Car with his Slot.it Ford GT40. In fact the top three cars were Slot.it chassisied Ford GT40s with just 7/10 of lap separating first from third. Monte Saager's Ninco AC Cobra was third just one lap down making his the fastest Division 1 car of the evening. In the BRM Group C race Chris fought his way to the win narrowly beating Greg. And in the Over 50 Class it was Al returning to the top of the podium with another of his fast KTM powered cars, this time his Ford GT40 Roadster.

dd Thursday Night Racing on March 17th at TooBad Motorplex.

We had a great turn out with 17 racers at one point! It was nice to see some racers we hadn't seen for awhile, and a new racer amidst the crowd. Between John Fisher and Chris Kouba four records fell. Chris set new records for lap time and total laps for the Classic Sports Car Class in Division II, and John Fisher posted a sub-eight second lap in the GT Class for a new record. John and Chris also tied for the win in GT setting a new lap record for that class! In the Over 50 Class Al Christensen proved he and his Cheetah can remain at the top, besting the field by over a full lap!

a little flash back sure miss running on that track
http://youtu.be/MtNyGr4AZR8

Sounds like a plan Mitch....

Even though  the turn out was light the racing was anything but light. Racing was very competitive  all  night long. Those that think these cars are not fast and are boring  need to come out and get a taste.  These are not your 1960 Era  1/32  toy slot cars...

Sounds  like a plan.

It is Doc, Al is camping at the moment and is unavailable for comment.

Camping? When did Al become  homeless????

Hello is these thing on??????

Do not see anything on the race calendrer for the next odd Thursday race. what are we racing ?

With all these canceled  races hope you all are doing good health wise..

Well racing didn't happen just me and Al at the track so test and tune was in order. With crackers and smoke salmon  to nibble on as we tuned our cars to the razor edges..Let's all try again in two weeks. Hope to see some old faces  that haven't  been out in some times. Don't make me drive out and put hate signs in all of your yards. You all know who you are...

To be or not to Be? Will we race or will we not that's the question. If you don't have anything  going these  Thursday  come on out and get some slot car racing 1/32 style in..

Work all ways gets in my way.you all play nice.

I don't know Doc,  Chris and I got sick at the same time and she didn't go,  while Al and I rode together and he's fine so far.

well Bill under the weather also . So is the race on Thursday on hold then?

Mitch58 wrote:

Doc, there are issues afoot. Several in our local slot community have come down with Covid. Chris and I seem to be over the worst of it, but others are still very sick. Those who were exposed but aren't sick may still become sick for up to 10 days after exposure.

you all get the crap at  at Daves race Last Saturday. If so I'm glad my work got in the way..
