Last point race of the year and it did end with out a little excitement and drama added at the end.it was another light turn out with only 5 racers making it out. We were hoping for more with many saying there were coming out. Either Al checks didn't clear or traffic was a issue. We will never know which was the case. So up 1st was group c slot it and Doc car was the class of the field and took a easy win over the field. Up next was the money race and once again Doc had the car to beat. Doc started out in the white lane so he would have to wait and see were every body was running before coming in on the last heat of the night. Doc had a 2 lap cushion on the field and if could back up what he ran in the 1st two heats he was home free. What that saying never count your chickens before they hatch. Well all night I been preaching make sure you hook up your controller correct and what do I do. Yep I did it. The green flag Flys and full blast into the turn 1 wall look down and see it hooked up wrong. Get it hooked up correctly and find I smoked the brake pot. So least to say red lane with no brakes is some what of a challenge to run. Rico ended up taking the win followed By Al and Doc taking 3rd . That was the end of the night of racing .in the end Al got the bad luck he was looking for but not enough guys on the track to make up the points lead Doc had. Even so the turn out were on the light side the racing was ways very close and fun. Hopefully we start to get people to start coming back out and racing the 1/32 cars. See you all in two weeks

I 2nd that. Hope it was a mild case.
Last points race of the season these Thursday. Doc going in with a 6 point lead so the pressure on Al to make his move.he is hoping for a big turn out and for Doc to have some bad luck.. anything can happen in racing... We need to start discussing what we want to race for the next year. RICO already put out that he would like to see the SLOT DTM class added to the list. Mmm I wonder why that is Rico ? The revo slot are a big hit so there two out of the 4 .I'm thinking slot it classic and policar f1 or thunderslot
Yep was fun for my 1st Saturday race. Learned a few things about preparing these bigger cars.the secound round just killed my lap count but it happens think most of use had a car issue at one time or another. Nobody was going catch that 33 car.
reek455 wrote:This coming Thursday is the 1st but I see nothing on the calendar. Are we taking a break or just an oversight?
I believe it the last points race. Me and Al were talking about the same thing. He just needs to put more on the calendar so no break
RACE REPORT FOR MAY 25 2023. Fresh off the wire.............. we had 5 racers that battle the Portland traffic to do battle on the track. Up 1st was slot it dtm and with it being a spec class the racing was expected to be close and it was for the most part. Rico car stood out as the car to beat if you want to stand on the top step and he backed it up with a easy two lap win over Doc in 2nd and Greg third Rico was the only driver that could run in the high 6's during practice and during the race.everybody else was stuck in the 7 so easy win for Rico. He can say he took the 1st win in the class. Wtg..up next was Trans am and Rico was again showed that he a fast car in practice but bad luck with a guild wire coming off dropped him down the running order . At the end it was Doc taking the win followed by Al and then Dave.last race of the night was thunder slot open and these one was a close race with everybody putting down low 6 secounds laps with the win coming down to the last heat and tenths counted on the track Doc once again was able to squeeze out the win by 2 tenths over Al followed by Greg in 3rd . That it for the night guys back up and headed home. Thanks Once again for hoisting the race Al
Yea? Whats that smell? Can be the smell of victory or is that the bitter smell of defeat that is lingering in the air? OR could it be the smell of hope that all the late night testing and tuning will finally pay off and that long waited 1st win will come to pass. Maybe it non of those and It is Al smoking up some fresh meat for all to enjoy has relive or youth and play with toy slot cars and remember old friends that are gone but not forgotten.

Well It was interesting night of racing. Good luck all driving and racing at Bend these weekend. Give them hell.
Vroom Vroom I can already smell the wintergreen and Flux in the air. Get them little rocket ships called slot cars all tuned. Let's go racing boogie boogie.
Ok, traffic just sucked on Thursday took me two hours to make the trip from Canby to Al. Normal drive is 30 min. So not sure if that was a factor in the low turn out or not. We just had enough to corner and race wo 5 brave souls fighting portland traffic. Up 1st was Lemans and it was a fight cat fight all down the running order with Doc taking the win followed by Al then Rico. Up next was the revo slots, different cars same results.and finally we had open and Doc pulled out the broom and went for the sweep with Greg taking a hard earned 2nd followed by Rico. Al had a really fast car but one forced off and putting the wrong lane sticker cost him dearly.. next time up it will be trans am and the madden race for the slot it dtm cars. These is going to a very interesting race do to the fact that are so even and so little tuning to be done. Going come down to who ever can stay clean and in the slot.
It rumble in the Basement to night. The weather heating up and the racing on the track also Revo Slot and Lemans on the menu tonight.
Was going swing by but traffic sucked going to home and it was backed up going south on 205, and I still need to put one of those together.
Yea I have one of those sitting around also. Be fun little class to horse play around with. Mine still has the urethane tires on it. Never thought about putting some rubber shoes on it. Bring it next time at Al and we can compare times between the two.
Going miss these week race. Been told to stay off my feet as much as possible
My bad knee has issues and 2nd I don't have car for the class. Good luck every body have fun..
LeMans and Revo slots are on the race menu next race....
Ok Racers. It time to put up or shut up...bring your A game because I'm sure Bob is ready to chew bubble gum and kick some a$$ and I heard he all out of bubble gum..
reek455 wrote:I figured out after the racing was over that my controller was not always returning all the way causing some consistency issues. I need to get a new handle to repair it properly as I'm not convinced the repair I performed last night is going to last.
Nay you just need some 14 gage wire.?(the stuff from Germany is the best) some 100 mph tape. 4 self tapping screws and medical grade Goss all and if that still doesn't fix a ten bound hammer.
Ok now, looks like wecare starting to get racers showing up for the odd Thursday program. Had 8 racers make it out to do battle on Al's track. The racing for the most part was very close throughout the night with who could stay in the slot would come out on top. Up 1st for the night we're the Scalextric gt3 cars. Doc green machine was on rails and three mistake free heats gave him a win over the field. The battle down the field were tight and ferice with very little quarter given. When the dust had settled Al took the 2nd step on the podium followed by Rico. Up next was the Money race and nobody had anything for Doc big v10 Viper with him once again standing on the top step with once again taking second Rico 3rd.last race of the night was open and same story line with Doc only having on track issue early in the 1st heat. AL had a chance he was up one tenth after his 1st heat but the pressure got to him and to many forced off pushing hard to make time cost him the win.. that was it for the night rest was test and tune on racers revo's trying to find more speed. For race results forthcoming. All in all it was a great night of racing..ta and sports car one are on for the next odd Thursday see you all then.
I dug out a few gt3 that had been sitting un used since the track tear down 2 years ago and not good news. All the cars that urethane tires on them. The tires turned to goo. Three others that were shoed with nsr rubber turned rock hard so only three out of about 15 had good tires on them so that's all I could round up beside my normal two back up Mercedes just one more reason I need to get the garage cleaned up and a track built..
Well it is looking like it's going to be GT kind of night with gt3 and gt revoslots being the cars racing.. going to have our own mini Bathurst 12 hour gt race. So mates grap you self a Foster's and come do battle..
Yep was lots of fun. MR Bill would of sweep the classes if not for a broken lead wire on the womp. That thing was fast. Only running a few tenths off what the flex cars were running. He was seen locking it up in the pit box to keep prying eyes and cameras away from finding his tuning secrets. Rumor is nothing makes up for big horse power...
Well little late but it was a light turn out with most guys going to the swap meet instead of racing but Bob made it work and it turned out to a fun night with plenty of track time to be had. Thanks for getting the race in. Next stop is across the River at Robs
