Topic: NASTE Race No.7 This Saturday 3/19

Just a reminder for the NASTE Race coming this Saturday at Bob Nakamura's Gorge Raceway in Troutdale. Bob has made improvements to his track including new aprons and completely copper taping the lanes. The track is smooth and fast! The Trans Am Cup race will be held imediately following the NASTE IROC races.

The doors will open at 3:00pm for this race.

Dinner for this race will be pot luck style, so please bring a dish, side dish, or desert of your choice with you.

This sounds great.  Are we running the Slot.it Porsches?  What about controllers?  And where did your magnet work best on the Trans Am car?

Yes, we will be racing the Slot.it Porsche 962s in with traction magnets and the stock tires.

We're good on controllers, I have 4 that work fine if just a little on the mushy side. But better mushy than too quick on Bob's track!

I did not try out my Trans Am car, although I did see Bob run his Trans Am Mustang around. His Mustang stuck REALLY well with the urethane tires! Not sure where he has his traction magnet. I'm sticking with the rear most position for my Camaro. We'll see how it works out!

Re: NASTE Race No.7 This Saturday 3/19

In the trans am, are we using stock rubber tires or urethane tires? I found that with rubber tires the rear magnet position worked best, but with urethane tires on Bobs track you want to move it forward otherwise the front will come out if you get on it hard. That rare condition known as too much traction.

Re: NASTE Race No.7 This Saturday 3/19

In the NASTE Trans Am Cup you can use urethanes.

I'm going with too much traction!

Good luck with that. :-)

Re: NASTE Race No.7 This Saturday 3/19

I'll probably need it!!!
