Re: NASTE CARLO

Here's an additional bit for the rules.

Cars in Modern Class and Group B will be split into two classifications - AWD and 2WD.

This now gives us five different scoring classifications.

Re: NASTE CARLO

More useful information:

The final stage which will be conducted at the Penguin Point Rally track will involve SCX standard track which means a shorter guide blade will be desired since the old-style slots aren't as deep as the newer style.  Competitors will be allowed to substitute a different guide blade or trim the existing one if clearance is an issue.

This will be the ONLY adjustment contestants will be allowed during the event other than repair situations arising from on course issues.

In the case of on course issues involving a contestants car (breakdown) the clock will continue to run while repairs are affected.

Here's an updated list of all the motors and which classes they can apply to.  Consider this list quite official.

Re: NASTE CARLO

Rally point for the NASTE Party Van, any suggestions?

We can use Rico's track as the pick up point if that works best for everyone, or..........?

Who is interested in riding in the van to all the tracks? I can seat about 9 to 12 adults.

Re: NASTE CARLO

If you have room, we'd be interested in riding part of the way.  If not, we'll get around.

Re: NASTE CARLO

That'll work Monte. I will start the NASTE Party Van Event Tour at Rico's in Milwaukie. I can return there after the last round at your place in Hillsboro. It is not really very far out of my way back to my place in Fairview. If anyone wants to board the van prior to Rico's round they can meet me at my house if Fairview before the van leaves for Rico's. I believe we are starting at 9:00am at Rico's, so I will be leaving my house in Fairview no later than 8:30am.   -------------------Bill

Re: NASTE CARLO

A big salute to all our hosts!  Rico, Kelly and AJ, Bill and Diane, Drew, and Victoria.

Breakfast at Rico's was great.  All the bacon I could want and more.   The Brownies at Bill's almost made up for those tension-filled laps around his track.  I never felt so slow while hearing how fast I was going.  Drew's basement was a welcome relief from the afternoon heat but the track was the real treat.  We've got some great video from there.  Victoria did a great job out here of keeping the pizza rolling.  I don't know which was more competitive, the rally or the pizza!

I thought all the tracks were fun, especially the two that were new to me.  Drew's with it's narrow roadway and bumps, and Bill's which was just tight and treacherous.  And it was pretty cool seeing rally cars catch air on the bridges.

But as always, it's not so much what you're doing but who you're doing it with.

That was the best part.

Re: NASTE CARLO

I'm not sure I can add anything that hasn't already been said but what a great day.  It sure was fun to see how some of the other rally cars from brands other than SCX stack up.  I was particularly impressed with Tracy's Ninco Subey and the Professors Scaley Skoda. I was astounded the Fulvia was as competitive as it was with a top 10 finish, not bad for a car that has been widely criticised as no good.  But I think my favorite part was beating modern slot cars with my 27 year old Scalextric/SCX hybrid Lancia 037. Don't believe it's that old, check here: http://www.neldo.net/Index.htm
