Topic: NASTE for 2012

Last Sunday at Monte's digital enduro we held a meeting to discuss the NASTE 2012 racing season. We decided on 12 race dates, and so far I have 7 different tracks on the list for next season, Monte's 1/32 analog & digital tracks, Jeff's 1/24 track, Larry's 1/24 track, Rico's 1/32 track, and Randy's 1/32 track, for a total of 6 tracks. And, as a surprise Tony from Fantasy World Hobbies said they would like to host a NASTE race in Seattle on their 1/32 track! There is also a possibility 4 more tracks may be added to the list.

So here are the race dates: Race #1 Sept.17, #2 Oct.8, #3 Oct.29 (Halloween Race - non-points and reserved for Jeff's Hemi Heights Raceway Park), #4 Nov.19, #5 Dec.10, #6 Jan.7, #7 Jan.28, #8 Feb.18, #9 Mar.10, #10 Mar.31 (tentative - provided it does not conflict with the Portland Swap Meet), #11 Apr.21, #12 May12.

I will be emailing the dates to the track owners for them to select the date they would like to host their race. As soon as we have the commitments I will post the schedule. Get ready for a great season!   -------------------Bill

Re: NASTE for 2012

Fantasy World is in Tacoma, not Seattle.  Shorter drive thankfully.

Re: NASTE for 2012

Thanks Monte.........I have a hard time telling where Seattle stops and Tacoma starts!!!
But shorter is definately better!!!!

Re: NASTE for 2012

Update: 6 of the 12 race dates have been filled, each by a different track.

To date we have firm commitments from three 1/32 tracks, two 1/24 tracks, and one 1/32 digital track!

Lookin' good so far!   ------------------Bill

Re: NASTE for 2012

The schedule is up, dates and locations are posted on the NASTE Calendar here on this site. All the point series races for the 2012 season will be an IROC format.

This year we have 11 race dates, plus the annual NASTE Halloween Race at Hemi Heights Raceway Park (as always the Halloween race is a non-points race). Here's the breakdown of the races so far:

1 - HO race

5 - 1/32 races (1 of which is a digital race)

4 - 1/24 races

There is one race date not yet scheduled - Feb.18, 2012. If you are a track owner and would like to host a NASTE race, please drop me a line.    -----------------Bill

Re: NASTE for 2012

The February 18th race date has been spoken for, and will add one more HO race to the 2012 schedule. In addition we have the potential to add a couple additional races to the schedule if we choose to, pending completion of new tracks!    --------------------Bill

The first race of the 2012 season is in the books. Congrats to Bryan on hosting a great kick-off event! I really enjoyed seeing everyone and racing some HO cars again. Thank you Bryan and Kathy!!!!   --------------------Bill

Thanks Bryan and Kathy, we had a great time.  But how come the cars are so small?

Re: NASTE for 2012

Monte & Victoria, Thank you again for another fantastic fun filled night of racing! Daine, Cailin, and I had a wonderful time! Cailin is pumped and ready to go to the NASTE Halloween Race! Our NASTE races have become top notch events, not just from a slot racing perspective, but just as much of a fun social event with friends where even new folks fit right in and can feel comfortable. I think what we have going on is very special, and I really enjoy being part of it. I have to give credit for our success to all of the NASTE host tracks and track owners!!!! Thank you all!!!   --------------------Bill

Re: NASTE for 2012

I agree with Bill's sentiments whole heartedly.  Thanks to Monte and Victoria for a funtastic event and I am looking forward to the next one in Tacoma.  Let's all practice up and  try to get some better results than the last time we ventured forth.  See you all at Jeff's for the Halloween race, are y'all ready?

Re: NASTE for 2012

There are 11 races scheduled for the NASTE 2012 season. A suggestion was made at Monte's race yesterday to have 2 races thrown out instead of 1. The suggestion was made because of the long distance race in Tacoma and the fact a lot of people will probably not make that race. I'm ok with throwing out 2 races, which would make it the best 9 of 11 finishes. Any thoughts or comments regarding this proposal?    --------------Bill

Re: NASTE for 2012

It sounds fine to me.  No sense punishing people that don't want to or don't haev the time to make the out of town trek.
