Topic: In my opinion this is counter-productive
All the action going on between heats with folks retrieving their cars and cleaning tires, adjusting braids. My understanding was that we wanted the track to rubber in, not keep it clean for silicone tires. So why do we need to run out, grab our cars and clean the tires. I do it now and then but if the track stays consistent then there really should be no need. And honestly, cleaning my tires between heats never makes a real difference that I can see or feel after about three laps.
But here's the real bottom line in my opinion...
Once again Victoria's car was not moved to the correct lane or failed to get the right sticker on it last night. Not once. Three times. That is almost half her heats. I'd like to think we can do better than that.
I suggest that drivers stay at their stations and the marshal's move the cars. Tires generally don't need to be cleaned between heats. Braids seldom need adjusting.
