Topic: Schedule Gone Out Of Bounds...

Ok, so it appears we have suffered poor planning in our First Sunday series - too many holidays an issues.  We'll be moving to a stated schedule ASAP.  We'll post it just as soon as we get it figured out.

And since Randy has decided to push the start of the Beaverton season out to August that still leaves us two more months of Fly Classics at the Pen.

We'll keep you posted.

Questions, comments, smart remarks... you know what to do.

Ain't schedulin' a bit...............well, you know!

Re: Schedule Gone Out Of Bounds...

Have you actually sat down and looked at a 2011 calender?  I don't see where any of the 1st Sundays fall on an actual holiday.  July and September are holiday weekends but not the holiday itself.  Looking ahead to July of this year. The 1st Sunday is the 4th but what could be more American than having a slot car race?  The rest of the year looks pretty clear except Labor Day weekend in September where it's not the actual holiday.  This will be an issue every year because Labor Day falls on the first weekend of Sept.  The end of my smart remarks.

Re: Schedule Gone Out Of Bounds...

The schedule has been confirmed for the remainder of this year.  What has not been confirmed is what sort of car we should run.  Comments gladly considered.  Possibles:

1.  Italian Challenge: Racer, Slot. It, NSR

2.  Ninco NC1 or NC5

3.  LMP - Any with motor restrictions

4.  GT - Any with motor restrictions

5.  Vintage F1

Hey Smooth, I checked the Lil' Slot Car Heaven site but your race dates are not on the calendar. Will you still be racing on the first Sundays of the month?

Re: Schedule Gone Out Of Bounds...

Yes, too many sites to update...

Re: Schedule Gone Out Of Bounds...

What are some specifics of class #1?

As for class #2 I like the Ninco NC1 powered cars, I just don't have many and I'm not sure how readily available the cars or motors are?

Classes #3 and #4 there are many LMP and GT cars available from all manufacturers.

#5 Vintage F1 would just be cool! I don't know how well the cars perform, but some look pretty fragile.

Re: Schedule Gone Out Of Bounds...

Class 1 would pretty much allow you to run anything from those companies with 22.5K or less motors.  Non-mag of course.

I think the Vintage F1 class would work well here since we don't have the killer speed at the end of the straight like some do.  We'd also limit it to motor size, those rocket motors would be out of line for this set.

The GT and LMP classes would allow us to run some different cars than what we normally run.  I've got a lot of cars, it would be nice to get to use some of them.  hmm

I'm just about to put up a couple of NC-1 powered rally cars on that auction site.  I thought about keeping them for motor donors.  Anyone that wants a couple of NC-1's better contact me soon!

Which rally cars? Maybe we can do some trading?

Re: Schedule Gone Out Of Bounds...

Matching SEAT's in yellow.  One is 2wd, the other is 4wd.  Lemme take a picture.

Re: Schedule Gone Out Of Bounds...

If you run a NC-1 class would other equivalent motors be allowed ala IPS?

My Toaster has matching seats ............................!!!!

Re: Schedule Gone Out Of Bounds...

Rico, yes.  I would say the BWA NC1 would be a good choice.  Also the FF motor but not the higher speed versions that are in the Scaley GP cars.  With the narrow tires these cars will use, it would be hard to get a lot of power to the track anyway.

1.  Italian Challenge: Racer, Slot. It, NSR- Got it covered in spades

2.  Ninco NC1 or NC5-  Don't you mean NC-8?  NC-5 is faster isn't it?  What body syle?  Sports Classic- say 1964 and earlier....

3.  LMP - Any with motor restrictions-  I assume the Avant Racing version is allowed since I have one on the way?

4.  GT - Any with motor restrictions- Covered once again

5.  Vintage F1- Any motor restrictions here?  How vintage?
