Topic: Plans so far for the 2026 season.

I am currently thinking about the 2026 season for the Northwest True Scale schedule. The first race to kick off the '26 season is the Rapid 500 featuring NASCAR. The last race of the season is the Rapid Grand Prix featuring the Indy cars. The NASCAR and Indy class will be raced one time. I haven't done a schedule yet, but the classes to be run next season more than once will be Early Sportsman, Early Modified, 962, NASTRUCK, Trans-Am. These classes will be run through the season. I am planning on a 962 series of maybe 5 races or so with points and plaques through 4th. place. I am still planning to do Thursday Thunder races, and of course a few trophy races along with the first Saturday of each month.

If you have a suggestion for Northwest True Scale racing, please let me know.

Added on March 4, 25: I am thinking about having a couple races on Thursday Thunder days to be voted on for what class is to be raced.

Re: Plans so far for the 2026 season.

After the great turnout for the Indy cars (18 racers) for the Thursday Thunder race (April 12, '25) I better re-think the plans for the Indy cars. Indy class is way too popular to only race once in the 2026 season. Stay tuned!....................Howie.

Re: Plans so far for the 2026 season.

Northwest True Scale has 11 classes as it stands now, and I am not going to add any more. I have tentatively combined (not in stone yet) the Early Modifieds and Late Modifieds into one class called simply: Modifieds. I may have to have two classes run on a Thursday Thunder night, two times through for each class but shorter heats depending on the turnout. I am trying to schedule the classes for the 2026 season so that each class is raced at least three times, not as easy as it sounds!

Re: Plans so far for the 2026 season.

I am planning on combining the Late Modified class and the Early Modified into one class called Modified for the 2026 season and beyond. I am adding some new rules (nothing major). Your Modified car from last season will more than likely be good for the next season and beyond. Bill and I are going to have a test day during the off season and try to come up with a plan for a narrower Hanna chassis to compete with the wider Hanna chassis without a major change................stay tuned..........Howie.

I also plan on racing each of 11 True Scale classes at least 3 times per year so the cars will not sit around collecting dust!

Re: Plans so far for the 2026 season.

I have updated the tentative schedule for the 2026 season that is posted above. Trying to get done with the season before June.

Re: Plans so far for the 2026 season.

I get it about getting your season done by the end of May, I question scheduling 4 races with 2 Saturdays in May. That does not leave much for the rest of us to schedule anything without completely overloading the calendar. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Plans so far for the 2026 season.

Bob, the schedule is not in stone yet. You are right, May is too busy for me too! I just don't like the True Scale classes to sit around and collect dust. So, I am trying to race each class 3 times and I only have one track to figure it out. I am still working on it, and I may have to go into the first part of June. Stay tuned.............................it isn't over yet! Ok, I took May 28th. off the schedule, I had a question mark on that date anyway on my notes at home. Back to the drawing board! Also, I am thinking on combining the Early Sportsman and Late Sportsman and naming it just Sportsman. That way I believe I can race each class 3 times next season.

Re: Plans so far for the 2026 season.

Scheduling can be a challenging thing to navigate with this many tracks to race at, I am planning a track owners meeting sometime in June. I am waiting until Bill Bostic gets home. I will send out an email or text as soon as I can after I talk to Bill. It will be all 4 of us track owners to prevent scheduling races at the same time. I know you don't care about the OSCAR races, but those can impact the schedule too. Bob Hanna is has scheduled a special OSCAR race on September 27th at Sparetime Raceway in Roseburg. Looking forward to getting together and getting the schedule worked out.

Re: Plans so far for the 2026 season.

The schedule above has been updated with classes for each date. Each class is raced 3 times during the 2026 season. This schedule is not in stone yet. I am combining the Early Sportsman and Late Sportsman into one class called simply Sportsman. I have not gone over the rules for that class yet.......stay tuned.               See ya, Howie.
