Topic: 2024 24 Hours of Tacoma Report
Checking in from up north...
Stan, Jake, and I are in the house and representing OR in fine fashion. Over the past two days, we have built up a very smooth and sweet car, the latest offering in development from BRM- a Ferrari 330! It is stunning!!
The glass pieces are from unpolished tooling, so they look frosty. This will be fixed for final production versions. In addition, our livery is completely coincidental- I had nothing to do with it!
It is shown as prepped for entry, so the lights have been taped over and various things reinforced with Shoo-goo, etc... to make things a little more robust. Regardless, it is still gorgeous and I am looking forward to the main event.
Qualifying was this evening, and inexplicably, I grabbed provisional pole with a 6.770 second lap on lane 8 of the 8 lane track. Equally inexplicably, this is the position I held all the way til the end, when the BRM team got their shot. They beat me by 0.001 second with a 6.769 second lap. So close, yet so far...
It was still a decent showing and bodes well for tomorrow. If we can keep it on the table, in the slot, and running laps, we have a good shot of doing well. That's always the rub though- controlling yourself to run your race at your pace and clock consistent reliable laps. Time will tell on Sun what we manage to do!
If you're up for spectating or even get a wild hare and want to get on the drivers' stand, there's still time to join us. The race starts tomorrow at 1000, and goes through approximately the same time on Sun. If you take the time to get here and want to try it, we'll make space for you on the line up.
