Here is my latest: A vintage Cox 1/32 Chaparral 2E with a movable rear wing.  It does not have the original Cox chassis but it is set up for the movable wing.  How does the wing move you ask? In a few of the pics including the really blurry one you should be able to spot a small metal rod that attaches to the wing on one end and to a bracket that is attached to the motor on the other end.  So, the motor is fixed, how does this move the wing? The motor is free to rotate, moving in one direction while accelerating and the opposite while braking.  Very clever, I'd say.

That looks like an FK motor, does it scoot along pretty good?

Very interesting.  The ad for the car on ebay lists it as a Scalextric body.  May not actually be a COX body.

Agreed, still cool regardless. 

But...  that probably makes it one of the SCX bodies.  I have one we can use and compare.  I'll take pics when I get home from the beach later this week.

More on the mystery, I posted the car on HRW and got this from Chris Walker:

Hi Reek, nice find, and a great looking car!!

I don't want to burst your bubble. but, Cox did not produce a 2E in 1/32 scale.........The body is a SCX 2E with what appears to be an early Riko chassis, with a wing and actuator either fabricated or pirated from a Cox 1/24 2E

Attached is a pic. (small, I apologize) of an SCX 2E.

PS I just dug up a pic. of a Riko chassis that is very likely the chassis under your car..........on your car the side pans on the Riko have been removed for clearance. In their day the Riko chassis' were quite potent, and with a bit of tuning they did very well, particularly in club racing..........well sorted, they can still easily hold their own today.
