Race of Feb. 16th. 2013. A great race was had with this group of racers. Not a lot of time to relax, you were either racing or corner marshalling. In between races we took a break and drank coffee, had a cookie or two, Bill added to the goodie bench and basically bs'd, practiced with the NASCAR's and had a good time.

The battle continues between the scratchhbuilders and the Production chassis groups in this class. Sometimes close sometimes not, but the challenge is still on. It's a good spirited battle with many races to go. Let's go Production group!!!!!

The Red lane was really the hot lane tonight for this class. I will clean the track before the next race.
We discovered that the track power is down to 11.3 volts for some reason. The voltage is normally 13+ I will see if I can find out what the problem is, I know..................I'll call Hugh!!
Points will be added to the News page.
During the off season there will be a home built chassis session for the Can-Am cars, we already have 5 racers so far who want to participate!

Race of Nov. 14th. '15. The first points race of the season. It was very close racing. The repair to the track made for longer guide flag brush life I believe, at least mine looked a heck of a lot better after the race concluded. Jairus Watson came up and didn't race, but he is doing a report on North West tracks for the new Slot Cars Magazine. He did corner marshal the entire race though and I thank him for that. I believe he had a good time, hope so. Thanks to Susan and John Gill for the bag of candy bars that was left over from Holloween, they were a popular hit!
At the starting line, left to right: Howie, Gearloose, Beau, Bob N.
Bob Schiefer' Can-Am car, nice! and a good runner.
Jairus Watson.
Results of a very close race.

For the final time this yr. the Can-Am took to the track. This is a VERY popular class, one that will be in the forefront for a long time.
The previous posts to this topic were copied over from the Northwest True Scale Racers site with Howie's permission. The NTSR site is scheduled to close down at the end of this year. I will be copying over as much of the great information posted there as possible in the next few months. =====Bill
Dennis A.K.A. DC Dynamo sent me these photos of his AWESOME Can Am cars to post up and share with everyone. Dennis' blue and orange Can Am car finished in first place in the Can Am race at Inslot's Checkered Flag Raceway on November 23rd.
Very cool designs. The flexi car he loaned me was also amazing, if only I could drive it properly!
Zack
I really like front wheels that look like front wheels.
Very nice chassis Dennis!
What keeps the front from scraping the track as you go around corners? I don't see any thing that will stop it from doing so, the rubber band does not look like it will stop it!

On light weight cars, leaning forces in the corners are minimal. That is why most all the faster race classes run on a Tri-Pod setup with no touching and rolling front tires. It is true they do lightly drag either the front bumper guards or the leading edge of the body in the turns and can be proved by the black scum accumulation on those parts.
I adjust the tension on my front axle using a Thorp fiddle stick (replica) for 3 oz. No accumulation of black scum on the bottom proves the rubber bands are doing the job. On a higher bank tho with high speeds, the front end might touch but only due to compression. Been doing rubber band suspension cars now (on scratch builds) for about 35 years.
