I thought the Tommy Ivo post was very cool.  What a splendid person.

Yes, please.

Needs to find a new home soon or it will be heading up the road to the landfill.

That would be a sad day indeed.

Vic and I went to the Vancouver shop one time.  They gave her a wing car to run circles around me with.  She liked it a lot.

It does look a little like it got stepped on already.

Contact me please.

Track is still available at no cost to a local buyer.

It is now disassembled and is basically two 4x8 sections with a third smaller one and a complete PC system for scoring.

All you need is a power supply.

I'll say this , I give much credit to Thunderslot for building cars that compete with both NSR and Slot.It without copying the exact formula.

I seem to recall letting our favorite South American run my car one night and without any practice at all and he was kicking some tail as well.

And one of the things is the Thunderslots don't even have to be well tuned, just taken out of the box and put on the track.  The NSR's may be similar.

Maybe the Can Am class should just be Slot.It cars, there are plenty of those to go around.

Well tuned ones, of course.

Amen. brother, amen.

At least until something faster comes along.

Agreed.

Thanks Al.

You could be right.  Or augments it.

"A few and a couple" against the standard out-of-the-box car.  Imagine what that Thunderslot might be like with time invested in it like was invested in the few and a couple - which is what will be next.

I'm ok with this but for the majority it's just buy a Thunderslot and go racing.

And list as not useful all the rest maybe.  ;-)

At least it supports the spirit of the Can Am class.

Not to argue the vote but I only saw two, not six.  What did I miss?

I'm easy, I can wait until the crowd dies down.   I'm sure I can select something out of the remains.  Thank you, Bill.

Holy hell!

Mail order available?

I have the info for the Museum in Salem and sent them an email, let's see if they respond.

Of note, the boards we were using for relays were never intended to be used at those current levels, rather 132 at 10v and such.

I talked with Mike (my DRS partner) and he had no interest in upping the levels for larger scale applications.

The Race Coordinator issue in my opinion and backed by testing and research has always been a poor implementation of the serial port driver.  I discussed this at length with the software developer and his reaction was basically to switch to USB.  With his own software package.  So basically he didn't put in the time to make a serial interface work right.

Here's what I found with testing.

I have run my track/system here for just a little over 12 years using Ultimate Racer without issue.  I tried Race Coordinator and in the FIRST RACE HEAT the race was stopped by the typical issue we would see at Al's.  End of story.

Bottom line for me - use something other than Race Coordinator if you are going with a serial port connection.

Trackmate with their own hardware should always be solid.  Same with the DS stuff.  In fact I am looking at using the DS bits I have for my "new" track project.  If only the stop and go boxes that went to the track at the Museum of Speed would resurface.

Pleasant day to you all.

He's raced before.  The Dom-inator.

I've reduced the price to free for the hauling.  I'll start taking it apart in a few days.

Come on all you big strong men.

Yup.  Both.

This would be a good track for you.

We are going to move the track out, hopefully someone will be interested.

The track has seen countless races during it's 12 years here as well as having been resurfaced from what we brought home.

It looks a lot like this:  http://www.naste.org/track_detail.cfm?ID=7

Top side track decorations are not included.

$250 includes the track and the timing system w/computer, keyboard, mouse, and wall-mounted monitor (w/mount).

You will need to add an adjustable PS.  $50 or so on eBay will get you what you need.

Some disassembly required.  Separates into 3 easy to move sections.  They have easy connection plugs.  I can explain it, you will have to do it.

You can contact me directly at montedsaager@gmail.com

It's a good, solid track well worth having.

Can you vote more than once?  Will we need to have the counts audited?  Are there restrictions?

From the looks of it, Rico voted for Mitch.  wink
