I say no. only because we are in the middle of a points battle and it would not be right to change the rules. Zack has a very good classic one car that has a fixed pod in it. I have one Im working on so I do have a pony in the fight also, maybe we can change the rules for next year and exclude pods. but for now leave it as is....

I have no problem with guys running a podded chassis has long as it is fixed. it opens up many more cars that can be run in the class and helps those that do not have the skills in building a brass chassis.it also opens up the gearing choice with these 14k motors being able to run 18mm gears or going inline. the big thing is that if a podded motor is used is to confirm the chassis and pod have been clued making it a one piece and if not then laps removed  per heat (say two per heat Total of 6 for the race) or a dq is in order.

when we had our talk about rules 1965 was the cut off for class 1 and at that time it was thought that the 1st race for the gt40 was in 65,  with that said the  rules do say to 1964. so it legal to run then. would not be right to change rules in the middle of the points. unless there is 100% across the club that we say no...

I take mine these way.

    2 cups ketchup
    1 cup brown sugar (packed)
    3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    2 teaspoons mustard (dry)
1 cup Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
    4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
    4 tablespoons soy sauce
    1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (ground)
    Optional: Dash liquid smoke

Combine all ingredients in 2-quart saucepan.

Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally.

Reduce heat to low; simmer uncovered 20 minutes, or until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Makes about 3 cups.

the slot it Lola  is the car to beat right now. the mosler is good also. the Audi R8 is one that looks like it might be a good car also but guys are running every thing on that short list I made. find one you like and start tuning...any nsr car is going to work right out of the box and be fast. so you might think about going that rout.

Class 17 - Sportscar Era Class - LMP Era (LMP)
LMP Era (LMP) - Full fendered sportscars from 1994 through current which ran in FIA, IMSA, or SCCA sanctioned events. Any motors (22k limit), tires, driveline configuration, or chassis material may be used. Bodies must be injection molded or resin cast and not vacuum molded. Thunderslot brand RTR cars are NOT eligible for this class, but their driveline components (wheels, axles, gears, tires) and guide assembly may be used for tuning

so a short list would be
1. any of the nsr modern gt cars and the Mosler.
2. slot it gt cars such as the  nissain p390 and the McLaren F1 GTR
3.SCALEAUTO gt cars like the viper ect
4.Revo Slot has a nice selction also
5. Sideways SWCAR01G Lamborghini Huracan GT3
so you have lots to choose from

Count me out. Wife just laid on me that we have dinner date in downtown  Portland that day for good friend Birthday.keep the sunny side up

Sorry I can't help be turning wrenches  at work at that time.

If there was no lettering work a nice carbon  fiber  wrap would of look good. But I think a light color stain to bring out the grain work and clear coating  is all it needs
