I don't care what the group decides to do. I have cars that are capable of winning no matter what we decide.

It's consistent driving skills that I lack, and that's my business.

As for deleting races already run, It won't affect me much. It's really hard to get bumped out of the middle of the pack.

There must be some sleepless nights for the guys at the top.

We did have a discussion about the Thunderslots prior to the start of the season and it was decided to allow them. From my point of view at that time I didn't own any and had never driven one. I was positive that I could built something to compete against them and was enjoying the challenge.

After spending enough money to buy a Thunderslot on two Fly cars I ended up with the fastest Fly cars I've ever driven, but that was it, they still fell short of what the Thunderslots were running.

Then I drove one. Before I finished the first lap I knew my efforts were futile. So I bought one. It's the fastest, smoothest most pleasant to drive car I own.

It's clear to everyone whether they've driven one or not they belong to a class of their own. Since they are currently producing more models perhaps eventually that will happen, other clubs have already done so.

That being said I think Mid Season changes should be avoided, but they happen whether to balance the field or to make some other needed correction.  Howie's track is having a power issue mid season They've gone from 13 volts to 9.5 volts. The generally faster guys grumbled for the entire 12 minutes they were racing, But Terry and I being used to 10 volts had a great time with Terry getting a podium finish. Al made a mid season change to the track which is taking a while to get used to but in the end it is a major improvement. We should have built it that way to begin with but both of us being the same height we didn't realize  that little blind spot was so much bigger for some of our club members, so a correction was made.

So as much as I enjoy driving my Thunderslot I'm open to whatever the majority wants to do. I'm very confident that my position in the middle of the pack is quite secure.

No, I just listen to the leaglease during the commercials. I even read the fine print on everything, because that might where they hide the interesting stuff.

I came in somewhere just behind those four in the LeMans class. I came in first in the Classic Sports Car Div ll, and first in Over 50. Chris won BRM I believe.

But Bill, you would actually have to be there. Like in person. I could even bring you a car or two, unless I get stuck on a late cement pour.

DOC, the extent of my knowledge is that rally cars have TWO occupants, the rest is a mystery.

It's all fun Doc, the prize money doesn't mean a darn thing.

It flew in all three heats, three other guys just flew faster.

I can't seem to finish any better than 4th, but this class is perfect.

What about one of our closest classes LeMans?

It turns out that that the NC2 is the only Ninco 180 can motor that is close to 14K, none of the currently Ninco made motors will work, however the adaptors to fit an FC 130 into an FK180 mount are readily available at almost every site I looked at.

Take whatever the motor rating is at 14.8 volts and subtract 19% and you'll get what the motor runs at twelve volts. I also have several in the garage with the 12V rating written on them, I'll check and get back to here.

I assume that we will be finishing out this years series with the rules that we started it with.

Chime in Doc? Really?
First off this is great, I haven't seen a thread this active on this site since...forever.

As for Motors in any class  for the tracks we have we don't need anything more that 21.5K, $7.99 Piranha, keep it cheap, I mean affordable.

Classic sports cars class 1&2, love them don't change a thing. Accept...

I wouldn't start a "Ninco" class I would take classic one and lower the motor RPM. I wouldn't set the NC1 or the BWA as spec as they are both out of production and basically a dead end. I would set a 14K limit which would include the H&R Jackrabbit motor which at $10.00 is the best bang for the buck in that area. There is a new company out there marketing a 16K motor but I don't have any idea how consistent they run or what RPM they actually turn. I've checked all of my H&R are motors with my tach and while slower than the Black stripe they all run very close to their rating.
By doing this it could include classic SCX cars some Fly Classics and some low budget scratch builds based on cheap, make that affordable PCS chassis.

GT class, there is nothing wrong here, If Rico wants to lap my souped up 962 with his soccer mom 4 door grocery getter BMW that's fine, it just gives me something to do till 1am when I get home from a good ass whoopin. Like working on my 4 door BMW grocery getter that is just slower than his.

Policar F1, they are fast and handle very well, but if the Polycar drivers are having a bad night I have a Scaley with a stock motor that can get around them, if that doesn't work I also have a Polycar of my own, so watch your mirrors.

Now we get to NSR and Thunderslot. My only experience with NSR is watching Rico take some very nice laps around Bills track with his.  After driving Chris's Thunderslot I bought one, well actually two.  These cars are something else. I do think that most of their magic lies in their rear wheels.  I bought some Slot It "air ride" wheels for my Slot It GT40 and while I haven't had it at Al's, it has run some very fast laps at my house.  I also have my Monogram bodied T70 on my Slot It chassis that is almost as fast as my Thunderslot.  I have extra Thunderslot wheels and tires I'm going to install which might put them on the same footing.  So whether or not these get a class of their own I'm more interested in building something to compete against them.

Carrera DTM? If we make a class, what am I going to enter in the next proxy? I'm not buying another one. Who am I kidding, sure I would. But if you want a DTM class let's not limit it to Carrera, let's open it up to any DTM cars.

That leaves us with Rally. I have an interior with two drivers already painted just waiting for somebody to spec out a car so I can give them a ride.

That's my 2 cents worth, well maybe 3 cents due to inflation or the Bourbon.

Doc, I put that chassis under my CLK, and with a Flat 6 motor it was about as fast as the 956s and 962s, but with the body being heavier I couldn't get thru the curves as quick as the other guys, but that might be my driving style. Without Goose or Monte to lean on I had to go slower.

I took it apart so many times trying to get that extra little something out of it that I eventually broke the chassis. By then the body post were stripped and broken and in a moment of trying to clean the work bench it got tossed.

Best $8 eBay purchase I ever made even though I spent countless $$$ trying to make it go faster than it was ever meant to be.

Happy New Year Doc, and to all the rest of you former Rug Racers too.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Fernando was going to run his Ninco until Monte offered his Thunderslot. I believe that Fernando has been taken by the dark side now.

Monte, I've been working on building a car that could compete against the Thunderslot. After driving Chris's I realized how far yet I have to go. I haven't given up though. When I ordered a new car I also ordered extra wheels and tires for my scratchbuilds.
