Ok, I did it.  A shiny, new Ford GT sits in the kitchen.  I'm now on the verge of readiness for the Ford GT class.  In fact, I don't know why we don't declare it a class by itself.  That would allow the other class (Spos Car D2) to return to a wider variety of entrants.  Not that I am complaining - now - but a class that has over 90% of the competition using a variant of the same car might need some re-thinking.

Will BRM Trans Am Cars be competitive?  If not, what will be required?

Is there a bounty?

6. Racers may race multiple entries in any race however, to be eligible for an official win, racers must complete the entire race with the original entry they start the race with. If a racer switches cars due to mechanical failure, or to improve performance anytime during the race, they are not eligible for an official win.

So can you change cars and improve your performance and get credit for the result if you finish second or lower?

Asking for a friend.

Yes, enjoy the sun.  Oh wait, it's 80 here today.

It was a beautiful day weather-wise as the sun shined bright and we opened the garage door to enjoy the outdoors.  A big thanks to all the racers that came to play.  It was nice to see a number of younger racers.  We'll probably have to move Todd up now that he's actually taller than I am.

Some results...

Can-Am Class:

1.  Tracy Flood - 46.4 laps
2.  Rico Locati - 46.3
3.  Mitch Brooks - 45.8
4.  Dan Fritz - 45.5
5.  Goose Gossett - 45.2
6.  Al Christensen - 45.0
7.  Monte Saager - 43.8
8.  Greg Petrolati - 43.0
9.  Kylie - 40.2
10. Todd Flood - 38.0
11. Victoria Saager - 37.4
12. Cash S. - 37.3

Some close racin' and congratulations to Tracy on the win just squeezing past Rico.

For the second round we threw down IROC-style the Slot.It Lancia's.  And for a set of IROC cars they proved to be quite evenly matched.

IROC
1.  Dan Fritz - 45.7 laps
2.  Tracy Flood - 45.5
2.  Monte Saager - 45.5
4.  Rico Locati - 45.2
5.  Goose Gossett - 44.8
6.  Al Christensen - 44.5
7.  Greg Petrolati - 43.0
7.  Todd Flood - 43.0
9.  Mitch Brooks - 42.9
10. Victoria Saager - 42.4
11. Cash S. - 39.2
12. Kylie - 33.6

Congratulations to Dan on his first win at the Pen.

It was good, close racing all day.  We'll hope to see you all at the next one.

Sounds like fun to me.  I'll come as often as I can, just don't pick the first Sunday.  wink

Yes, conductive is the key.

I agree with Mitch.  If I have a least favorite class it's probably Trans Am.

I'd be happy with:

1.  Can Am
2.  GT or Classic Spo's Ca's
3.  LeMans

But with only three classes I'd be happy with most anything.

Ok, what did I miss?

Thanks to Al for hosting the race this past Saturday night.  We had a good time.  Food was great and the company was friendly as always.

I'd like to congratulate my wife for winning a heat!  She really enjoyed the green car.  I think we all did.  smile

LMP...  got a few - probably.  Nothing new so I'm sure I'll be following around behind the newer models.  And nothing new there either.

I think you have a few of everything.  Somewhere...  ;-)

Thanks to all that came out to play this past Sunday.  Weather was just nice enough that we kept the garage door closed all day.  Cool outside but inside we saw some hot racing action.  Congratulations to Jeff for his first Penguin Point win.  His McLaren was just a-flyin' around the track.  It took an IROC set with a mix of DTM's for me to finally find my way back to the winners circle.  To top it off, Victoria made a killer batch of beef stew.  Here's some results:

And I will create a new tab on the main site for rules.  In time...

That was a fun night.  Looks like I'll need to source a Ford GT.  And no, it won't be red and white.  ;-)

Another great looking BRM!

Todd, how about a picture of the guide flag adjustment?

If we still had a rally track we could probably offer a round locally.
