Boy that's some tight points.Al is in the driving seat. Going need a no show out of him.

Wouldn’t that mean we’d have to race without him at his own house?  Just saying that may be kinda hard :-)

I was thinking more along the lines of a routed track Doc. A single lane hill climb or a two lane continuous loop. Something that won’t take up too much space.

If we still had a rally track we could probably offer a round locally.

Let’s make one :-)

Like a small hill climb or something.

As points races?  It changes nothing.  As non-point races?  Then I would have little to no objection. I suppose that it depends on what Doc means by "these cars".  If he means ThunderSlots then I see no change, it would still be a turkey shoot. If he means pre ThunderSlot spec cars then I have no objection

Any body have any thoughts on adding two more races to the end of the season to run these cars?

No, what's going to change? There will still be those who have them and those who don't

I am in favor of the current proposal

NOT everyone said yes.  I could see the writing on the wall as soon as I believe it was Greg's Thunder Slot run that it would be dominant and objected.  It was at that time that we had a discussion about allowing NSR's to run since the price point is basically the same.  At this point, I'm pretty well confused as to what is legal and what should be legal, let alone fair. What kind of message is this sending to new people?
The next points race is Classic Sports Car Div II.  Are NSR cars legal? What's to prevent me from down motoring a Thunder Slot? Right now I don't have the time, money or inclination to do so but I'm guessing someone else will.
I DO know that I'm enjoying racing less and less to the point I am considering not racing anymore unless we get this mess straightened out.

Would this be allowed?

Uh oh, might be time to break out the 4WD Peugeot.  Sorry I had to miss Thursday but it was Cece's birthday, slightly more important.

Ok then...  Without re-visiting everyone else's submissions for consideration, I have a few thoughts.

GT Class
My two cents: Leave it alone.
I know NSR's have a reputation, but I don't think they're as quick or fast as the T-slots.  I think the T-slots are the target benchmark.

I think he is correct here, having seen the ThunderSlots run, I don't think my stock NSR's would be able to keep up without some work, maybe just a tire change.

Trans Am Class
I am inclined to say leave this one alone too.

I agree, if it isn't broken don't mess with it.

Can Am Class
I also like this as it is.  It will be interesting to see how the T-slots run with the Slot.It McLarens.  I may end up getting a spider T-70 in the end, but I am pretty happy with the Slot.It.  We'll see how it shakes out as more T-slots show up in the grid.

I have mixed feeling here, I don't have either of the fast cars but enjoy running my Ferrari 612.

Classic Sports Car Class
For the record, I like this class as it is, but I also like Mitch's proposal about the reduced RPM motors as well.  I might suggest to spec a 14k motor with 7mm tires and non-podded chassis and the 18k motor with 8mm tires and podded chassis, mix and match any years up through 1969(?).  Run them separately if we have enough entries to do so.

I like the new proposals as well which are basically what I tried to get everyone to agree to some time ago

F1 Class
Meh.  I run this class because I like hanging out with you guys.  Not a fan of the F1 slot car.  I stumbled onto a Scaley McLaren for $35 which runs reasonably well, but I doubt I will spring for a Policar to be competitive.  I think it's too complex/broad spectrum and if we want to get serious about it, we should pick an era and run them hard.  The disparity between the various eras makes it hard for me to take this class seriously.

This class is way too varied but I'm not sure how to fix it

The new proposals:

DTM
I like the idea.  I think you can count me in.  Just need to bring myself to purchase a Carrera product on purpose.

I agree plus I already have a few

And a Merry Christmas to all!

What about a certain clear, orange and yellow SCX Audi?

Another solution would be to not apply so much power and just drive slowly.

Oh, it was quite slow when the gears a slippin'

Time to vent/complain.  I now have purchased 4 complete wheel/axle assemblies for my GT3 McLaren and the latest one is the same as all the others: the spur gear slips on the axle. Upon further inspection the gears are not installed on the knurled part of the axle. If you move the gear over to the knurled part then there is tremendous side to side play and if you try to shim it then the entire assembly is not centered on the chassis/body.  This is either a serious manufacturing error or they are being cheap and using an axle from a different application and calling it good enough. Well, it isn't.

I know I could use a different car and maybe not have the issue but this is the car I have and I don't really want to spend more money on a different car. The issue could be easily remedied with a Slot.it axle kit but as of now that is not a legal solution. Thanks for listening to me vent.

I won't have any time off from work with my new job, especially since they are making an allowance by giving me time off for my trip to Austin.  That being said, I really would like to participate but I will just have to wait and see if anything works out for maybe just Sat/Sun.

Kelly found this pic on SnapChat. If you look at the left front tire closely it appears the rubber tread is already starting to come off.

Chris did win the whole enchilada. The last race was a thriller with three fast cars and was a close race to the end. I was not able to attend the after party due to reasons beyond my control but both of the other cars were top 10, possibly 4th and 7th.  Dennis did experience wheel failure in his last run and was VERY lucky to escape serious injury when the Flyer left the track and headed down a very steep bank. Luckily the nose of the car caught a root or low lying branch and stopped or his day could have been much worse. All in all a long day, but well worth it in the end.

I guess I misread it, I thought he was having trouble locating the correct gears. I assumed 132slotcars was out because he said he had been searching online and found none.  Many vendors are indeed out of stock, but 132slotcar and ED do show to have them.
