This info is located under Race Rules in this Forum ;
Class 1 - Classic Sports Car
This class is open to classic and vintage sports cars, RTR and scratchbuilt are acceptable. Examples of cars that are legal for this class are: Revell King Cobra and Porsche 904, Ninco Classics (i.e. Porsche 356, Jaguar XK120, Corvette, Jaguar "D" Type), old Revell 1/32 slot cars (i.e. Ferrari GTO & '65 Corvette), Carrera "D" Jag & '67 Corvette, Monogram Ferrari 275P, MRRC King Cobra & Porsche 904. This short list is not inclusive of all the possible cars, there are other brands that would fit this class with slight narrowing of the rear tires. Motors are limited to those developing no more than 18,000 RPM - refer to the Slot Car Motor List link on this site. This class is comprised of two divisions (10/21/2015).
Division I: Elligible car's rear tire contact patch must be 7mm or less. The tire width set is that of Revell Classic cars, specifically the King Cobra and Porsche 904. Tires slightly wider than 7mm can be narrowed to meet the rule. Chassis construction must be rigid with no separate articulating pieces such as hinged side pans, motor pods, or suspension type front axle mounts.
Division II: Elligible cars' rear tire contact patch must be 8mm or less. Chassis construction may be multipiece/articulating.
Races will be run at 10 volts.

Re: 2018 NASTE IROC Series (3 replies, posted in NASTE)
From what I've learned over the years, slot car enthusiasts have varying interests in the hobby. Anything from collecting and building to racing. Their interests may be in one or more specific scales, or in a certain type of racing such as road course, oval, or drag racing. I would include IROC format racing in those types. IROC racing definitely levels the playing field but it is not for everyone. Some racers enjoy racing the cars they build from scratch while others prefer racing well tuned RTR type cars. There are also racers that enjoy a more serious type of competition as well as those that enjoy a more relaxed and casual type of racing. There are differences in racing formats and styles from one club to another as well as from one track to another. Fortunately NASTE supports and promotes ALL types of slot car racing. The main thing is it is ALL FUN!

Ok, maybe not..........I know this is NOT slot car related but I want to get the word out.
Last call...The rip & tear has begun! If you are interested in any yard plants, shrubs, whatever let me know when you want to come out and load up! We have raspberries, iris & bulbs, lilys, peonies, bambo, and others. Scroll through the pictures for an idea of what's here. We also have a bunch of "misc." (using that term loosely) like 55 gal plastic drums, wood used to make raised planting beds, pots, ROCKS, and yes.....wait for it......BOWLING BALLS!!!!
You can see some photos of what we have around here on my Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/bill.bostic.7

Ok, ok,..........I may be the crappiest driver on the team having been away from holding a controller in my hand, but I'M IN.
I believe John Fisher has moved away. I heard through the grapevine he moved to California to be closer to his daughter.
.................guess I'm going to have to search for my controller..................

Re: Division II Classic Sports Car (14 replies, posted in Cars)
On the one hand, their own class would be nice, then they could be regularly run, but on the other hand not everybody might have a sports car with a podded chassis laying around. I'd hate to see anybody feel compelled to buy yet another car just to have something to run. That's the plus of leaving them combined.
2 cents from a temporarily out-of-touch racer: Although the rules would spec a podded chassis, I see no reason why a racer could not race with an "un-podded" chassis if that was his only option. It would definitely NOT be an advantage. Might even create a challenge for some? Another option along the lines of how NASTE has always dealt with "rule infractions" could be implemented. Cars that do not fully "conform" to the rules are considered "non-compliant". As with the new racer "magnet rule", non-compliant cars could compete but would be officially scored as N/C. They would receive no official credit for their finish position or points in the case of the championship. If they were to win a race with a non-compliant car, that car at that point could be banned. We've had this system in place and I have used it a few times. It is not hard to implement.

Re: Division II Classic Sports Car (14 replies, posted in Cars)
Hmmmm............I decided that I was going to leave it up to you guys.
If it were up to me I'd leave the Classic Sports Car Class with the Division I specs with one exception. I'd spec out a lower RPM motor. I'd change Division II to Modified Production Sports Car and spec it as whatever you guys deemed appropriate.

What did you guys decide about restructuring this class? At a minimum it might be time to make the Division I and Division II their own class and rotate them accordingly?

This would be one hell-of-a buy for somebody! 4' x 8' table top with 3 lanes of racing. We held a NASTE IROC race on this track with 1/32 Reprotech Fiat Abarths. The track is a scaled down version of Lee Dundas' 1/32 track that was in the barn loft back in the eighties! This is a NICE track! Worth way more than $40!!!!
