The motors are new, still in the packaging, various manufacturers. $5 to $10 each.
The model kits are new in the box. $8 to $12 each.
Aluminum wheels are new in packaging. $5 a pair. Also have some inserts.
1 RTR Slot.it HRS chassis for $25.
Some other misc. parts.

Sorry guys, NO HOLDS!  These are strictly show up and buy with cash deals!

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Bill,  do you want me to bring you a classics l car?

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

To any other racers I'm bringing the DaVols Forums Cup cars to run after our regular cars. They are made up of mostly stock but well tuned Scalextric 70s Nascars with 18K motors and modern Nascars with 3D chassis and no motor limit.

Man, that was a while ago!

Mitch, I'm gonna try to get some cars together to race Thursday, but if you have an extra that would be cool!

Thanks!

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I echo those sentiments Doc, I loved racing at Too Bad.  Dominic's last football game is Thursday and he is playing with his cast all wrapped up. Looks like a club. He played last night and scored a TD. See ya all on Nov 3.

Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

my very 1st race with the group. yes, the hook was set deep.been down the rabbit hole ever since...

dd Thursday Night Racing on March 17th at TooBad Motorplex.

We had a great turn out with 17 racers at one point! It was nice to see some racers we hadn't seen for awhile, and a new racer amidst the crowd. Between John Fisher and Chris Kouba four records fell. Chris set new records for lap time and total laps for the Classic Sports Car Class in Division II, and John Fisher posted a sub-eight second lap in the GT Class for a new record. John and Chris also tied for the win in GT setting a new lap record for that class! In the Over 50 Class Al Christensen proved he and his Cheetah can remain at the top, besting the field by over a full lap!

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

And my 1st race back from my injury.
Odd Thursday Night race on August 25th at TooBad Motorplex -

We welcomed new comer Dick Gehrke to the group. Dick raced back in the 60s and brought along some great old vintage cars he used to race. It was obvious from what we saw of Dick's collection he was a hardcore slot car guy! It's good to see him back! It was also great to have Dan "Doc" Fritz back in the line up! Dan has been out due to an injury. Even hobbling around on a broken leg Doc finished fifth in the BRM race with an un-tested car! Nice job Doc, and it is so good to have you back! The overall buzz of the race tonight was "where's the Goose?"..................A mystery to be sure!

The night of racing started with the GT Class and eleven racers. After Rico whupped us we moved on to the Classic Sports Car Class and attendance had grown to fourteen racers. Mitch Brooks took the win in Classic Sports Car with his Slot.it Ford GT40. In fact the top three cars were Slot.it chassisied Ford GT40s with just 7/10 of lap separating first from third. Monte Saager's Ninco AC Cobra was third just one lap down making his the fastest Division 1 car of the evening. In the BRM Group C race Chris fought his way to the win narrowly beating Greg. And in the Over 50 Class it was Al returning to the top of the podium with another of his fast KTM powered cars, this time his Ford GT40 Roadster.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Race report for odd Thursday 11/17/22 we had 5 racers show up for battle
Up 1st was Trans am class and Doc took the win followed by Greg and Rico in third followed by Dave and then Al.
up next was the points race and Doc once again took the win followed by Al and then Rico Dave and the Greg. we lost two racers, so the rest of the night was down to test and tune with Rico making major improvements on his trans am car. The points race has been a back-and-forth battle between Doc and Al with both of then dominating, Al pge and Doc the gfx classes with the other driver finishing 2nd to the winner, so it is a tight battle.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

Well, another odd Thursday race is in the books. 4 racers showed up to do battle so track calls were the flavor of the night.
Up 1st was f1 Policar and Al walked away with the win with Zack taking the runner up spot followed by Doc and then Mitch.
2nd race of the night was pge and the race was for Second with Zack running off in another time zone. when it was all said and done Zack took a easy win with Doc tsking 2nd by one tenth over Al and then Mitch.
Last race of the night was open and then was some very tight racing with a few heats side by side battles for three straight minutes Doc ended up edging Zack out for the win with Al taking 3rd followed by Mitch. the rest of the night was testing a tune time..

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

ok with that out of the way the subject of classes talked about, and Zack had some good ideas.
1st we just toss out all the classes and start over from scratch per say and keep the new classes and rules as simple as possible.
all class would be based on manufactures and would have very few up graded allowed to keep cost down and the playing field simple.
example of one class would be revo slot class.
1, has to be a revo slot 1/32 car
2. must keep stock motor and gearing
3. only revo parts can be used including tires.
that's it.
another class that was brought was slot it dtm cars.
1, must be a slot dtm car in stock form
2. only upgrade would be tires and slot it weight. loosening of body screws and pod would be allowed only slot it parts can be used
. those are just two sampled a few more were talked about, a few we already have such as gt3 and Policar f1
some of the older classes would be kept and added to the list but the days of having a 30-dollar car turn into a 100 dollar one would be a thing of the pass at least for Odd Thursday night racing hopefully these would bring racers back to the track..

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

My old club in SoCal had all the classes run as described, which was basically "box stock" except for whatever performance parts the original manufacturer provided, such as enhanced tires. But that was it, so it made the racing less expensive for folks and just allowed for basic tuning which is pretty much within everybody's capability, and if not, pay Zack to tune for you! For those who really like to tinker, keep an "open" class for scratch-builds and things like 3D bodies and brass or 3D chassis.

It might encourage more folks to come out to race. I would have come tonight, but just got real busy at home.

Re: NASTE Odd Thursday Night Racing Rules & Current Thread

I should point out. I don't think we need to get rid of "all" of the classes.

I think we should simply remove the ones we haven't ran in the last couple of years, and replace them with some lower barrier to entry but still race-grade classes.

I still think the primary issue is finding the people to come out, but having a few more easy to buy and race classes would help retain them IMO.

Less prep time for beginners is always a plus.  The emphasis should be on track time.
