Topic: Heidelberg Raceway Visit

Hey Ya'll, I made a trip down to Kimm Marshall's Heidelberg Raceway in Eugene today. What a GREAT place! Two beautiful tracks to play on, surrounded by racing memorabilia of all kinds!

Kimm's 1/24 track is deceivingly fast! His ROUTED, magna-braid 1/32 track is super smooth and challenging!

If you have not raced on a MDF Routed, Magna-Braid track DESIGNED for 1/32 scale slot cars, YOU ARE MISSING THE BOAT! I warn you, once you race on Kimm's track you will want one!

The NASTE race at Heidelberg Raceway has been rescheduled for Saturday April 18th. If you can make this race I guarantee it will be worth the trip! You will not be disappointed!

We will be holding one race on each track. You will have two chances to take the hardware home, one in 1/32 and one in 1/24. Both races will be IROC style races.

The 1/24 race will be 4.5" wheelbase flexi type chassis, lexan bodied NASCARs. These things are REALLY fast on Kimm's track!

The 1/32 race will be mildly modified Carrera Aston Martin Vanquish's. These cars will surprise you! They do not handle like STOCK Carrera cars! And on Kimm's track they are a riot!

So get ready, the race is on! There will be local Eugene racers for us to meet and race against. They may have a track advantage, but we may have the car advantage?

Will we fare better than we did at Pelican Park? Maybe some NASTE Thursday practice before the 18th will help?

Mark your calendars, make some plans! This one is going to be great!  -------------------------Bill

Re: Heidelberg Raceway Visit

Those tracks look beautiful and challenging.  I certainly hope I can make the trip.

Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.

Re: Heidelberg Raceway Visit

Me too Rico! I know you and AJ would have a great time! I'm going to work on the carpool info and details. Depending on who can go, we could rendezvous at the Denny's on I-5 at Wilsonville (where we would meet up for the chassis classes at Bob's). I'll have the Toaster and three available seats. I could also pick up riders along the way.
