Topic: NASTE Website Update

Fellow racers, we are quickly closing in on the green flag to our next racing season. We are currently having issues with the NASTE website Calendar. There have been some changes but I am unable to edit the existing events listed on the Calendar. I am working on a resolution to the problem, but please be patient.

Since I opened the NASTE website subject, I am looking at rebuilding the site. Monte created a fantastic website for us and maintained it for almost 20 years! In the time the website has been in existance it has grown to enormous proportions! There are more than 16,000 posts, and on one Forum topics there have been more than 1,000,000 views (that's right 1 MILLION)! My thought is that the size alone of our website has created some of the problems we have experienced. In rebuilding the NASTE site I am exploring the idea of downsizing it by keeping just the most valuable aspects of the existing sites features. These features would include a Home Page where race results and photos could be posted. A Calendar of events for posting all racing events as we currently do. In my initial research the company I'm talking to does not support the format for creating a "Forum", but they do host "Blogs" (whatever that is exactly). I have a phone meeting with a representative scheduled for Friday morning to discuss more options and what might be available. If any of you have an ideas or thoughts, I would appreciate your input!

And to Monte: Smooth, thank you so much for all you've done to get us to this point! You are The BEST my friend!  =======Bill

Re: NASTE Website Update

Update: Regarding the NASTE.org website. I am still in the process of researching options for replacing the NASTE.org website. Replacing/rebuilding the website is a necessity not an option. If I do nothing the website WILL go away! Keeping the website will incur expenses well over what it has cost me in the past. I am at a point in my considerations where I need to decide if it is worth it to ME! Bottom line; does anybody actually give a damn if we have a dedicated website or not? Facebook use is an option, but not a very good one in my opinion. Please let me have your feedback. The typical response I get in these situations (which is not much), will probably result in no more NASTE website.   =======Bill

Re: NASTE Website Update

Hey Bill thanks for all you due. I think I mentioned  that I opened a naste section on  homeracing world forum were we can post. Best part it is free I'm  one of the moderators. It is way east to post pics and such.  Might be our best option going forward. Not sure if we could move every thing over.but I see no issue with new post and the schedule  going on that site. Maybe even get more guys in the club
