Topic: OSCAR Late Model NASCAR at Inslot's Checkered Flag Raceway on Dec.11
On December 11, 2021 OSCAR held a Late Model NASCAR race at Inslot's Checkered Flag Raceway. The race format used was the traditional OSCAR NASCAR format with a B Main (Bush Race) and an A Main (Cup Race). This has been the race format OSACAR has used (for as long as I can remember) for their Late Model NASCAR races.
The racing starts out with a qualifying session to determine racers start positions. Based on qualifying positions, drivers are divide into A and B mains. B mains consist of the drivers in the bottom half of the qualifying positions, A main drivers are the drivers on the top half of the qualifying positions. Start positions for both the A and B mains are assigned based on driver's qualifying positions and their choice of starting position.
The winner, and in this case the runner up, in the B main were given the option of moving up into the A main. Top qualifier for this race was Stuart, or Stew Meat as we like to call him.
But let me back up a little.....Friday the track was open to practice before the race. Friday morning the track was sprayed with traction compound after it had been cleaned the day before. By Friday afternoon the shop was filled with racers getting in some practice laps and getting the track race ready. Practice ran well into the evening.
