We had a gathering tonight at Al's home to race, but mainly to open a gift we were given by our new friend Shayne! He sent a Christmas gift all the way from Australia! We opened the gift and found Vegemite and TimTam biscuits inside, so we set about trying them out! Bill got the white bread Shayne requested we use for the Vegemite and as soon as we all had a piece in our hands, we proceeded to give it a try! I think we all enjoyed the TimTams much better than the Vegemite, but now we can all say we've at least tried Vegemite!

So many slot car races!
Thanks to everyone who has hosted a race, fed us, supplied cars and fixed cars.
I've had a great time and learned a lot.
Hope to race again regularly one of these years!

Thank you Howie for allowing us once again to run our dressed up cars on your fun track! I certainly had a great time. There were 8 racers (Rico had to leave early and couldn't race) and even more cars. Some of us needed to use back up cars! It was great to see all of you again and meet Doug! Thanks for hosting Howie! Thank you Bill for the Tacos, Bart for the pizza, Rico for the chicken and Al for the meat and cheese platter! There might have only been 8 racers, but there was enough food for a dozen or more. Thanks for an enjoyable evening. Here are my photos for the night!!

Halloween Race. October 30th. I hope this is okay to post here.
Victoria has generously offered to donate pizza for that night (I'd rather they be there themselves, but understand) and we'll pick it up on our way. I'll be bringing sweets. I've been making a few.
Also have reusable plates and silverware I can bring. Yes, they'll be washed clean.

I didn't see this any where and wasn't sure if I should post, but Jimmy wanted me to share the photos and I also wanted to thank Howie for allowing us to race again on his wonderful track. It was great to see the cars dressed up and to visit with those who came out to race.

Hi! I just found out from Terry two hours ago that there is a race tonight. Victoria just sent me a text asking about the meal plan for this evening. Anything happening with that? Is Bob taking care of it? Are we doing pot luck? I didn't realize there was a race, so I didn't make anything new. Left over candy I can bring though.

I'm really sorry. I totally forgot to post pictures here of the race. They are on my Facebook wall as well as the video of this race. Great job on the costumed cars people! Such imaginations. I didn't get a couple of the cars, so am hoping Bill or someone else did. I even forgot my own, but I took one a few minutes ago in the garage.

Here are the photos I took last night. Watched the videos I took and I got the car flying off the track and a few unexpected lane changes and crashes. I'll get them put together eventually. My night videos are just as dark as usual.

Yes, I read through all of these posts again carefully and slowly because you said "Please remember I am NOT talking about changing the weekend NASTE events." and I figured I read something wrong!
I did miss a couple of points and read some things wrong, so I apologize for my mistake.
I thought you were doing away with the 'socializing' aspect of the racing completely and couldn't understand that because it seems like those races are the only races that are NOT too serious and mainly just for fun.
Since you are just talking about the Point Series Championship, it has nothing to do with me, so my opinions and thoughts do not matter. I did think it was working well this year though since you had those participating in the Point Series separate from the rest of us who just like to race those cars.
Since you are NOT changing the weekend NASTE races, I'm very happy to continue coming to the social events. 
Thank you Monte for volunteering to take over the administration duties of the weekend NASTE races.
