Looks like Le Mans has jumped out to good lead..looks like the real fight is for the last class between classic one and PGE. maybe we get some late night ballots come in and change the results....
Or maybe not...
Can you vote more than once? Will we need to have the counts audited? Are there restrictions?
From the looks of it, Rico voted for Mitch.
I can't help it if Rico picked all the right classes.
I no longer have the room but I like that track Monte.
Okay, I talked with Al and Sunday afternoon works for most of us, and less traffic too for those across town.
Lets say 3;00 and I'll have the track open by 1;30 if anybody wants to bring cars over and just run around the track. I also have a few cars and controllers if you are traveling light.
Anyone else is welcome to come race, marshal ect.
PGE, GFX, Cam Am, and LeMans
I received a box of proxy cars today.
These are Nascar cars divided into 2 groups, COT which is open to all makes, have an open motor, and pods with after market chassis are allowed.
The other is Winston Cup which is made up of Scalextric '80s Monte Carlos and Thunderbirds. These car run stock chassis and either H&R, Piranha, or Predator 18K motors.
I'm here every day, I'm open to a weeknight (even # Thursday) or a weekend time to run these. Chime in here and let me know what works and I'll come up with something that works for the most volunteers.
Thanks, I'll try to qualify these cars tomorrow.
Looks good Monte, great job Bill.
To escape the heat I spent the morning in the basement getting three Trans Am cars running smooth as glass and lapping 6.8ish, not bad.
Then I looked at the schedule to find we are racing PGE and GT3 this week.
Oh well now I have a project for tomorrow morning.

Not WHEN I'm DONE....
And there you have it. ;-)
HA HA, it never ends.
Yes, thanks Bob it was a great time.
I've undid the damage I've done and am ready for next time.
I took some Womps to Bob's today. They really like his track.
My "just for fun" Womps were smoother and faster with 21.5 Piranha Motors than My "race" Womp with the 25K motor. I came home changed the rubber and removed the K130 25K motor and installed a 25K C130 Piranha. The acceleration at least on my track is much smoother, I'll have to see how it runs on Monday.
Finally after a couple of years of my timing system not controlling power it's fixed. I had it working with UR but at some point The computer stopped seeing it so I reverted to Race Coordinator. It would count laps but not interface with the relay that shuts off the track.
Over a year ago I bought the Trackmate hardware and started the installation, actually I prepared the present wiring to make installation easier but somewhere I got distracted and never finished.
So a couple of days ago Al came over and we crawled under the track and finished the installation. I also downloaded the Trackmate software and have run several mock races and practice sessions. It appears to be working flawlessly.
So by the next NASTE race we'll be ready.
Also sometime later this month (August) I'll be receiving the DeVols NASCAR proxy cars in the mail and will be looking for a group of racers to run those. We don't race NASCAR here as a group but these guys build some quick smooth cars. I entered a car a couple of years ago.
It was fast and smooth and managed to finish last in every race.
In my defense, I had never built a car for an oval track (all they ran that year) and while the other cars weighed 95 grams, mine was 130. So you learn and move on.
Congrats Al, it was a tight race right to the end.
Not for me Stan. 3 minutes heats are enough for me. When I race 4 minute heats on the big tracks in that fourth minute I start looking at the pretty cars in the other lanes.
So, we've been playing around a bit with some 4" flexis at Bill's track on Mondays. While Bob has a couple of things coming up with 4.5" flexis we don't really race these smaller ones much.
I've noticed the 4.5s can be tough to find but the 4" cars seem to be plentiful and fairly cheap. I found this one recently for the price of a decent motor, the tires were hard as a rock so I dug in a drawer and found a couple I was able to true down enough to find some soft rubber. Boy this thing is a rocket. It's a bit too much of a car for my small track but will be a blast on any of the larger tracks.
Count me in Bob, I have an old beat up 4.5 I'm working on, but I also have a brand new one on the way.
It's funny Doc, I've found that a tweak that makes big gains on my track doesn't always translate to the same improvement on AL's' track.
It could be the slight difference in track surface or the fact that he has more sharp corners than I do.

Good thing we dont race odd Thursday at your tack. With all that testing we all be playing catch Mitch

Insulating like you did was a great move, Our garage has none. We have a freezer and an old refrigerator out there. I don't think either one of them shut off all day long.
Once it passed 110 the AC in the house starts to loose ground a bit and it starts to run continuous just to keep the upstairs comfortable.
The basement on the other hand got so chilly that I had to put socks on my cold feet.
I thought about braving your shop but the drive over worried me more.
Old high mileage trucks and old high mileage men don't do well in this kind of weather.
It's cooling off nice now, it was 116 in Tigard about 3 hours ago, now it's 86.
For that kind of money Tahiti would be far cheaper next time
Most likely be my last time here. Getting very crowded and touristy. They trying to pass new taxes on people coming over and if they pass it will drive most working class people from not coming. One is a 400.oo impact tax per person that fly in or cruise ship and the other is 100.00 a day condo hotel impact tax.thats not counting the extra 200.00 they added onto the car rental.
Don't forget Sunday 2pm the track will be open for a fun run and a proxy race.
