The grid for the Sportsman race included 10 entries. Ted's '55 Chevy, Blake's '49 Merc, Howie's '56 Ford, and Bob N's '49 Ford made up starting grid for the first heat race.
UGHHHHHH.........I don't do leaves anymore!
I'm headin' over around 3:00pm Mitch.
Econo Cars!
Hope to see you there!
I'm planning to start racing again. I found my controller (well one of them anyway) yesterday. It was in a box with my BRM cars. Now if I can just find cars for the classes being raced I'll be in good shape.
Evidently it can happen with factory arms too! Howie said he thought he had a tire rub.
After just a few laps Howie's car laid down a very impressive smoke screen. The motor totally fried and Howie had to switch to a back up car. Hence the disqualification.
Here's some video I took at the race:

Bob loaned Stuart his number 99 NASCAR to race. Most of us regretted Bob's decision!
Good shot of Howie, although this was much funnier while it was happening....

Howie hosted another awesome Rapid 500 race to start off the 2019 racing season! The 500 is a great test of racing equipment as well as driver skill and endurance. In addition to the competition and camaraderie some excellent pizza was shared. Thank you Howie!

I have finally reached the point in the "moving process" where I feel I can devote a little time to some of my hobbies. I can actually see some portions of the shop floor now, although I still have things to find a "home" for in the shop, as well as the need to "find" some specific tools and equipment which I use for those hobbies. But I have made progress. Just last week during one of the last nice days we had, I went out shooting with one of my new neighbors. The next day I readied one of my slot cars for the annual Rapid 500 race at my friend Howie's by painting up a new body. I couldn't find my supplies for painting slot car bodies so I improvised using some Rustoleum paint and masking tape I had on hand. It didn't turn out great but, it served the purpose. I had a great time at the race and look forward to getting back into the slot car racing scene. It has been a long 15 months!
I'm out. No longer interested in the 12 or 24 hour enduro races.

Late this evening I received a couple of phone calls regarding the OSCAR race which was to be held at Electron Raceway on Saturday, October sixth. The bottom line is that after several cancellations, at most, only 6 people might attend. Sorry folks, not enough for a race. I regret that the Trans-Am race will be cancelled. I have no plans to reschedule.
